Where are the fem 4 fem dudes around tho in the black community?

Way back in the older half of the 90s when I was starting to be around more gays, one of the fem dudes I was acquainted with used to say he wasn't a "lesbian because I want a man, honey, and I'm a whuman. If he swish and sashay like me I don't want him"

Masculinity seems to lose toxicity in the bedroom.

 

I don't have a problem with folk being out or closeted. I just don't think being discreet is hiding as many in the community do.

Is it me or does "The Community" sound more sexy than "LGBTQ"

 

I was one of Michael Johnson's early online defenders and my long Cypher Avneue essay on his situation was even mentioned and linked in the BuzzFeed profile mentioned here as a rare opinion that saw through the witch hunting being done to him.

Very glad to hear he will at least get a new trial.

 

It started out as a hobby for me, but Ocky has always been interested in the business aspects of our blogging. Now we're both kinda on the same page but I realize that trying to make money off of the gay audience is impossible unless you are a party promoter, pornographer or hookup site/app developer.

 

I agree about the narrative framing of black men in theory. Framing aside, at a certain point, I give up though on defending ig'nant assed nikkas in the name of checking white media. We live in an age where the average teenager on the street with a smartphone has more access to information and knowledge than all the greatest minds in human history from Archimedes to Einstein could ever hope for. So, I'm just through with those walking around willfully stupid on pamphlet-basics about HIV or still embracing "pray the gay away" fucking religious beliefs.

On a calmer note, sometimes the best way to deal with stupid shit is humor and satire. I wish there was a gay/bi version of Chapelle's Show. Every time I hear "pray the gay away," I think of the priest in The Exorcist and imagine some lisping demonic voice going, "Holy water?!? Chile, you bet' throw some mimosas on this bitch, it's Sunday, we having brunch up in this soul!"

Thats true, but I don't know why someone would want to use a service that was mandated by court order, not developed without malice to meet an audience need. It reminds me of those white gay couples that DEMAND some Christian baker acknowledge them by making their wedding cake. Do you really want to eat something made by an antagonist?

I see an entrepreneurial opportunity for actual gay singles that are Church-based to create their own service. It would probably be more inviting and feel more natural as the audience would have shared cultural and religious values and understanding.

.....Vivica is so shady. I have no bias towards either party (well maybe abit against Fox)....but she clearly just said that out of spite and all the messy people of all the world will shower her with an additional 15 seconds of relevancy. I haven't seen any blogs yet, but the comment section seems pretty mixed I guess, sometimes I hate even reading the comment section of videos like this because I just know there's going to be some ignorant bigoted a hole with a top comment that ruins my mood.

Whew!! This post just gave me flashbacks of what originally brought me to Cypher Avenue. It all started with a bold statement of genuine interest.

I am going to have to call BS on this White Gay Men of Color shit. Regardless, all of the Black men in particular and the gay men of color, in general, are still and forever will be people of color, by virtue of physical appearance alone. I also think that you are limited in your ideas of Blackness, seems like a narrow focus of what constitutes black presentation?

I don't know any of these men personally but I don't think they are divorced from their black identity. I am friends with Capehart on FB and in some ancillary social circles and he is regularly engaged in Blackness, from the black journalist groups for which he is a member to the black reporters and journalists that are apart of his world. In many ways, he performs his blackness every day, despite his gayness and in more influential ways than other black gay men. I don't think all of these brothers are in the Glory Hole Place. Its just different construction of blackness.

 

I agree with Don Lemon. Hart is trash. I don't want or need an apology from him. But I agree with anyone disputing the BS false narrative that he already apologized for all of his homophobic comments in the past.

 

Why even work for Grindr if it doesn't fit in to your values. Just ridiculous.

This was a long read but totally worth it.

I don't think of myself as hot or really attractive. I just think I look "plainfully" average. When I get compliments, it is hard for me to really accept them at times or "they are just saying that and don't actually mean it but ok." I know I'm not a spring chicken or in uber shape. Meanwhile, there are definitely guys who are my age or older, with really awesome bodies that 20 year olds envy, and are considered classically attractive. Those guys are 'fucking up the curve' lol.

However, I never really wish ill will towards someone who looks 'better' than me.

As the guy in the article realized, you never know how people got to where they are or what they did to get what they got. Attractive men balling on IG who can barely rub two nickles together and probably has to do some quick hoe shit literally, to avoid getting kicked out of the extended stay. It's one thing to want to do porn but another to HAVE to do porn or think that's the only option. Not exactly the life most want to envy. Looks, body, dick, ass etc can only get you so far for so long in life. Even though there are those who can capitalize on those things and not be homeless or starving, there are countless others who look good but are barely making it or are chemical dependent. That's not a life I would envy. I mean, if I'm going to have to hoe or do porn, I'm gonna try to be the best damned hoe and own it. For example, Jordano Santoro. In shape, has his own site with his videos, selling underwear. I am not even mad.

I think with the IG, SC, Twitter exposure people get, we only see the 'good' photos and the highlights of the good times and not the internal struggles these people have.

A lot of guys complain about things and do not do anything about them. One equalizer people have is their body. Your face can look average, your dick may not be as long and thick as you like (btw there's always someone, NSFW, smaller and larger [naturally or enhanced] than you no matter what size you are so don't sweat it), but you can do something to make your body look better. It's not going to be quick or easy but you can get your body to the best version of itself and that will put you in a better position to attract more people and thus increase the chance of sexual partners and potential people to date. It's not shallow, it is what it is.

Glad this guy realized that he was doing the same thing. He was out since 18 and still had his family's support. That something a lot of gay men wish they had or don't know if they'll have or not.

The only openly gay prince in India is making his palace an LGBT center. props to these people! If I had the power and money these individuals had, I would open an LGBT center in Lagos, Nigeria. There are too many of my people suffering. I love my people man. I've been doing more reading and learning so much about the struggles of LGBT Africans (mainly West Africans). But yeah man if I could open an LGBT center in Lagos, Nigeria I definitely would.

 

This is that good intentions paving the road to hell thing imo. NH meant well trying originally to frame a positive image on IG but a smidge of his inner Archie Bunker leaked out while doing so. And his "I said what I said" attitude is also very telling. Hes biased, egotistical & dismissive...not a homophobe...

I think people should vote with their feet or their wallets. I have no plans on taking any vacations outside the US but if I did Jamaica would be one of the last places I would go. Hell, I won't even eat food from Chick-fil-A or give money to the Salvation Army because of their record of hostility towards gay people. Money talks and bullshit walks that's the world we live in. That's why NC had to try to get rid of parts of their "bathroom bill" it generated alot of bad publicity which is bad for business.

I had so many feels that I had to stop reading it for a bit and come back to finish it. I use to ask myself why was I so damn lonely, even with being relatively popular growing up, having a solid set of friends in college, and a decently managed professional life. It all really took a turn when I turned 25, I had gotten into a serious relationship, starting making professional moves, my friends started moving and having families and I really had no real friends outside of my boyfriend (now husband). That lasted for several years until I reached out to my old college buddies and we make an effort to stay connected to one another. In many ways, I am still experiencing loneliness but it's different. I live 5000 miles away from family and friends and I only stay for about 24 months before I pack up and move, its hard to make friends Lately, I have been quite the hermit. I go to work do my job and go home. I think these issues are compounded because I am black and gay and foreigner.

I am so blessed to live the life I live and see so much of the world yet I am often humbled by as big as the world is because it always seems small.

yes. i would. but not just because it is a GAY church. you can hang that up. every one that has a church does not know what they are going with it!! It has to be of substance, resonate with my spirit and helps me to be a better person.

 

Nah. I don't connect with that. And I understand that there's a long history of white gay folks taking liberties and steering that identity ship for the rest of us. I rebuff that completely. I know that there are folks of color that connect with that term, but I don't. I don't know how inclusive of all the other letters in that funny little acronym it is. Mostly because I'm a proponent of folks living in the moment we're in sociopolitically and seizing the agency to define themselves. Maybe this goes hand in glove with some folks. But not for me. I'm comfortable with bisexual. Queer just comes off too broad and all encompassing.

 

This is similar to what happened to me, just no hookup app...but from the part at the bar....and I was able to mostly..mostly..fight it off.

It is sad how I seem to have heard a version of this story again and again and again. At least people are speaking up so I can hear it repeated, same story with a few twists it seems each time.

It is a very horrible and unique experience when you realize 'this is NOT the alcohol...alcohol does not do this to me and has never done this to me...and then you know and there is not much you can do about it. I still think it was mostly my fault. I did everything wrong-everything you are supposed to do-I did the opposite.

ALL gay men are susceptible to this. The strongest man can be reduced to the level of an infant-which is why you must always be on guard in situations where you are about to put something into your body, to ingest something, food or drink-especially drink. At a bar, at a party, with someone just the two of you. I learned the hard way-which is the usual way I learn things unfortunately.

Actually the worst part for me, the part that hurt me the most, was when I was still fairly incapacitated and I was dumped out of the car into an intersection and left there. Just dumped out into the street like a bag of trash. I begged not to be dumped out like that and to be dropped off at an actual place. But I was just dumped like garbage onto the pavement and left there.

And I talked to people and nobody ever saw the guy before or after. Probably from another city.


I would not be surprised given how society is, that it would be much more difficult for a black man, gay or straight, to reveal this kind of thing. What with that toxic hyper-masculinity and all being worse in the black community.
