Many single Black mothers raise their sons to be their boyfriends or the man of the house because they're tired of the "no good niggas" they keep attracting.

Its just still beyond amazing when you hear about certain style, foods, dancing, music, etc etc that is "new" when "popular" culture and mainly white America gets a hold of it.
I remember not long ago they had a picture of white girls with their hair wrapped and bobby pins saying "what a new style". As well as cuts in eyebrows saying its a "daring NEW style" while I remember doing that in middle school.
Love all races, but black people as well as other people of color are the most innovative race I have ever witnessed in regards to style and culture. I live in Harlem and in my brownstone I am the only black person that lives here now out of 6 apartments. No biggie , but kinda a biggie.
Its just sad when I hear the saying "Everyone loves Black culture, just not Black people". Sad because sometimes its VERY true.acessential, grownman, alton and 2 others dapped this. -

"He won by 12 points!!! 12!"
The vote was 156-124.
The rules are what they are. Remember in 2008 when Obama won the nomination because he very carefully figured out how to maximize his delegate numbers while also losing the popular vote? About 300,000 more people vote for Hillary than Barack. He won anyways since his vote was efficient though hers was concentrated.
It's an fallible system established by fallible men. It's what we have right now. It's not what needs or will be around in 50 years, but people should take action. -

Also keep in mind (speaking to non-registered voters) registering to vote means you can get called for jury selection. More people of color on juries could mean less people of color being incarcerated.

First, I loved “I Am Not Your Negro” and have given copies to friends as gifts. But Brother should have avoided the interview. This isn’t the age of William F. Buckley and the old Firing Line show on PBS where a liberal would get a fair debate with an intelligent conservative (since Jones referenced Ali)
Fox News is an infantile echo chamber. When you go on Carlson’s (or any Fox) show, their viewers (unlike Buckley’s in the day) aren’t there for nuance and dialogue and new ideas, they are tuning in to get a reinforcement of their preconceived beliefs about “uppity niggers” and MAGA. That’s why you (generally) don’t see folk like Ta’Nehisi Coates go on these programs as it’s a waste of time.
Calling Tucker “brother” wins you no moral points with these people. If they considered the real teachings of Jesus they wouldn’t support a unashamed liar narcissist as president (“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”); or alleged pedophiles for Alabama senate seats (“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are like unto whitewashed sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outwardly but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.”). In his heart of hearts, I bet even MLK knew he wasn’t converting some rabid, racist white southerners with his talk of brotherhood, so much as establishing a documented and codified record of their reactions to peaceful protest for the world and future generations to see.
This is why Baldwin used the phrase “moral monsters”. He was a child preacher at one point and knew the white, Christian Bible well. Therefore, if one is going to use the Bible or US Constitution as moral baselines, then intentionally and with malice afore thought do the opposite of what you profess to believe (slavery, lynchings, genocide, deliberate economic and political disenfranchisement, etc.) then you are not just a hypocrite but a monster (defined by OED as “
5. A person of repulsively unnatural character, or exhibiting such extreme cruelty or wickedness as to appear inhuman; a monstrous example of evil, a vice, etc.”). So Baldwin wasn’t name calling, he was pointing out objective facts about a population’s demonstrated behaviors and actions.
TLDR: Blacks and White Liberals going on Fox are, in the end, no better than conservatives who get suckered by Sacha Baron Cohen. Your narcissistic need to be on camera allows the interviewer to use your time and being to craft the interviewer’s narrative, not your own.

I'm not thinking of this in the expected black-DL-gossip frame of reference, but as another piece of fuel in a long burning flame of the bonfire of indulgences that is organized religion, personality worship, and the psychology of true believers. The history of the Catholic Church, Jim Bakker and Tammy Faye, Jimmy Swaggart, Oral Roberts and the attack of the 100 foot Jesus, MLK Jr. and his bisexual orgies, Elijah Muhammad knocking up teen girls...hell just throw one more log in the fireplace...
A book everyone needs to read to understand how mofos like Eddie Long, Trump, Hitler, Jesus, Wall Street Brokers et al keep getting away with this shit (and why we let them)..

I was here in Paris working like a crazy mad man when President Obama and the other world leaders signed the historic Paris Accords on Climate Change. I really don't get why people don't think this shit is real. Most people say it is because we will long be dead before we start to see any real changes, I call this the fuck future generations defense. Others just don't believe that 97% of scientists can be right about something, I call this the climate denier defense, these people are anti-intellectual. We can't save/solve stupid sometimes. On the other hand, we are starting to see real effects, indigenous people in the arctic and on small islands are seeing the real effects of sea rise. There are communities in Alaska that literally had to move their entire town inland. That project cost the Alaskan and American Taxpayer hundreds of millions of dollars. SMH.

The answer to this is pretty simple....nobody really knew sh!t about Africa outside of Egypt and some rudimentary knowledge of Khush and the Nubian Empires. There was basic knowledge of the different tribes/ nations, but detailed insight on daily life, religion, political hierarchies, etc, nobody knew nor cared. Nobody cared anything about any other part of Africa aside from colonization. As far as the "Powers that Be" were concerned, Africa below the Sahara was just a bunch of black Spear Chuckers that worshiped the devil.
I love the idea of this museum, even more so because its opening on my bday LOL. But I wouldn't expect them to have any extensive displays on West Africa aside from a brief exhibit on where most of the African People were taken from and the ports that they were trafficked through. The exhibit would logically focus more intensely on African {American} history, I just hope they don't try to water shit down to appease those that are sensitive to the atrocities that their ancestors initiated/ practiced/ endorsed/ perpetuated. You know how the mainstream community in this country can't take seeing the truth. Refer to viewer opinions on 12 Years a Slave.Winston Smith, Tyroc, Discordant and 2 others dapped this. -

I walked in their was no color anywhere in my peripheral vision. Okay, not a big deal. I was wishing their were but we are all in this together. That's what I said to myself. I was looking at the some of the posters and fliers while waiting for the members. It was two white guys who were in the building that afternoon. I wanted to introduce myself. I also wanted to know more about the organization and possibly join. Those jokers stood there and ignored me for at least 10 minutes. I got annoyed and said "were you just going to let me stand here? I got that catty bitchy look from them- but one of them came over nonchalant and spoke about it. I had checked out while he was talking. I left and never looked back. That's when I realized what @redsai84 said above is reality.

Damn, @OckyDub I forgot that your former ATL mayor Andrew Young was in the Carter Administration and the whole resignation thing!
You see they’re going after Alice Walker, too?
It would take a much longer thread than this, but it seems like the Black-Jewish thing is heating up again due to Zionist Jews who want to denigrate anybody (including other Jews) who dare criticizes Israel. And it’s not just a race thing, plenty of white people who dared criticized Israel on the Palestinian issue have paid a price, such as former Illinois Republican Paul Findlay who caught hell for this 1980s book (which is one of the first books I read on the issue as an adolescent):
They Dare to Speak Out - Wikipedia
but black critics are especially lumped in as “anti-semites” as if Andrew Young and Lamont Hill are on a corner wearing bow ties, selling bean pie, and passing out copies of the Protocols of Zion.
I’ll just refer younger CA squad to the works of Harold Cruse for the black history, and University of Chicago scholar John Mearsheimer on the U.S. policy front:

After Fucker Carlson interview with Fox News over his column.
'Don't be like a Tucker Carlson,' says Ricky Jones after TV exchange
Ricky Jones doesn't think his appearance on Tucker Carlson's show was "tumultuous."
Carlson, the Fox News host, cut off his brief interview with Jones within several minutes Monday night, after insinuating Jones was a racist. But the move, Jones said, was in line with what he anticipated.
It wasn't his first rodeo, he told the Courier Journal on Tuesday.
Jones was invited onto Carlson's show to discuss a column he wrote for the Courier Journal over the weekend, in which he explored the idea from social critic and novelist James Baldwin that white Americans might be "moral monsters" for their treatment of other races.
To Jones, it's important to go into spaces like Fox News, which he described as "hostile," to both confront the network's ideology and raise ideas that might not be otherwise discussed on the program.
"Fox News doesn't stay on Fox News. It moves throughout the world," he said. "... Hopefully it breeds discussion outside of that, because that's a space where the discussion isn't going to happen."
The column is an attempt, as a whole, to place modern phenomenons into historical context, Jones explained to the Courier Journal on Tuesday. Voter suppression and traumatizing children or families of color, for example, have happened for centuries.
"Baldwin raises difficult but necessary questions with which we must wrestle. Why are so many white Americans so brutally mean and inhumane?" Jones wrote, in part. "Why do so many others feel comfortable justifying or excusing it?"
Ignoring that context or the nation's past is "how we've gotten to where we have gotten," Jones said, adding that Carlson epitomizes the idea of not being willing to have an honest conversation.
In the program, Carlson appeared to hone in on one line of Jones' piece rather than taking a look at its entire message. He asks Jones whether he would accept a piece that describes black people as moral monsters — to which Jones replies by encouraging viewers to read the piece.
"When somebody raises the issue of race and you call them a racist, when they're suffering from the ills of racism, it shows that you're not really capable or willing to have an honest conversation," he said. "So that's what we're dealing with."
To move beyond those types of conversations, Jones called for people to talk more and to truly listen more. "Don't be like a Tucker Carlson," he said Tuesday.
And, Jones said, it's important to be honest about your views. It doesn't matter if you're at the table, if you're repeating the ideas people "at the table" have been discussing for years, which can take a "certain level" of integrity or courage.
"At the end of the day, we're trying to build a world where all of our children can enter it with more safety, decency, dignity and humanity," Jones said. "We're not doing that? We're doing something wrong."
So, will Jones consider appearing on Carlson's show again?
"I'm like Ali. I feel like I'm the heavyweight champion. I take all comers anytime, anywhere," Jones said, smiling. "... You gotta ask Brother Tucker that. That's his show, man."Cyrus-Brooks, SB3, BlackguyExecutive and 2 others dapped this. -

Coming out as an Atheist was/is actually easier than coming out as gay. Similar to homosexuality, once you stop having to pretend being something you're not, it's very liberating. I didn't lose any of my friends because of it, some even welcomed debates and conversations about religion without trying to convert me. It helps that I was also never trying to make anyone disbelieve their faith, I merely articulated why none of that ever made sense or worked for me.

I love how they make it seem like "the Earth" is in trouble. NO muthaf@#ka...WE are in trouble. The planet has been through this MANY times before we came along (Paleocene Period for example, when the planet was almost all Jungle and Marshland) and will go through it plenty more times AFTER we're gone. I love how bitches wanna f@#k shit up and then all of a sudden get concerned once their livelihood is in danger. Like people that get caught saying racial shit. You not apologizing cause you sorry, you apologizing cause you got caught. These "Environmentalists" aren't concerned for the state of the planet, their concerned about their own individual futures. No species is meant to stick around infinitely, although Sharks, Alligators/Crocodiles, and Roaches seem to have found some kind of loophole LOL. Maybe it's time for humanity to be eliminated and let something else take over that will actually appreciate the planet.

I'm being purposeful in my redundancies here.
- This is a stupid tweet.
- Followed by a stupid comment.
- The term "woke" is stupid being that it's being used just as much as "hater" now by Black folks.
- If folks who listen or have listened to Kendrick Lamar couldn't hear the truth or activism and his unapologetic Blackness (which I have pointed out in POSTS and Threads) in SOME of his music then they are stupid also.
- Folks been saying Kendrick is "woke" for years now.
- Which goes back to my original thought; This tweet is stupid.
PS. I didn't go see Kendrick....JUST LIKE I've never watched a television show where Jessie acts in. Doesn't mean I can't appreciate the positivity and message of both Black men.

I love that this is happening but I hope the museum does not just focus on slavery. Our history runs much deeper all the way back to the ancient kingdoms of Africa which I don't think historians do much work into researching and displaying. I would love to is a large exhibit on the kingdoms and civilizations of West Africa (precolonial) and their resistance to colonialism like the Ashanti Queen Mother Yaa Asantewaa. In high school World History, I never understood why there were like 10 chapters on Roman, Greece ect; but just a few paragraphs on Ancient African cultures other than Egypt/Kush. Like other cultures in Africa didnt also have pantheon of gods (like Greece or Roman had), theology and philosophy, technology, sophisticated systems of government, etc. Some African Americas the only history they know of their people starts with slavery. They have no concept of modern or ancient Africa. They view Africa (past and present)as some desolate place where all the people, are starving with flies swarming their face and the good old Europeans saved them from worshiping the devil smh.

VIRGO (September 22-October 21)
Good Points: Detailed, meticulous, good dressers and good conversationalists. Gay Virgo men are usually successful in the profession they choose and are hard workers. They are good listeners and give good advice. They are ruled by the planet Venus so sex is very important to them. Sexually they might not be the freakiest but they bring passion to their game.
Bad Points: Gay Virgo men have a tendency to be overly critical of friends and lovers. “You are wearing that sweater? That shit went out of fashion in 2002!” They can also be fussy and obsessive compulsive. Oh, and that holier-than-thou attitude can be a front. Behind the scenes undeveloped Virgos can be some of the biggest sluts around — they just keep their stuff on the down-low.

I think some of this stuff does apply to alot of people sometimes but alot of it is just vague enough to describe other in a general sense but we all (most of us) are complex beings and I don't try to box other into Star Sign personalities. I do think its fun to read every now and then though!

If I had an 8 year old daughter, I would not have allowed this to happen because it is not age appropriate in my opinion. I don't have a problem with you dressing up and playing pretend at home, but I would not take my 5-15 yr old son or daugther to a mall's MAC counter to have makeup plastered on their face to be made up to look like a grunge-slut.
