Just my observation from the GBTQIAs on social media and their videos on the web concerning World AIDS Day. From their perspective:

HIV is just a hurdle within normal non-heterosexual life and culture that one must over come; like losing a job or flunking out of a class in college. Half of Black msm folk either have it or will contract it so its not that big of deal in the grand scheme of things.

With a society that's use to popping pills (for pleasure or health), whats one or two more pills if it means being able to enjoy raw sex, be undetectable and live a long healthy life?

I'm mos def on board with erasing stigma but not at the cost of normalization to the point of expectation.

Last thing; if the LGBTQIA community has and is actively helping to educate while erasing stigma, while normalizing HIV positivity, why are many dudes still being deceptive or lying about their status?

Unfortunately, HIV/AIDS is still ignorantly and uneducatedly viewed as the GAY disease. There has been progress, but it is still there. Even within the LGBT+ community, there are gay and bisexual men who will not even engage with someone who is HIV positive let alone date someone who is. That in itself creates a lot of issues with men who are HIV+ and how they deal with dating and relationships prior to finding out their status. The end result is not feeling free or having a safe space to be as open enough to say it to someone else than they would be to talk about having the flu or diabetes.

And of course, there are people within the LGBTQ+ community that feel invincible to HIV/AIDS and choose to make sexual decisions based off of that. Most recently, it has been determined that if you are HIV and undetectable, you have a strong chance of not transmitting the HIV virus to someone else (mainly by way of oral sex, being considered a low-risk sexual activity with the enzymes in saliva being able to inhibit any transmission). That information has breathed hope living and minimizing HIV transmission, but the irresponsible side of it is that some men who are HIV and undetectable will run with that and act as if HIV is not even on the table anymore.

All of this and also I had a random thought.

Who the fuck die of Aids these days?

I mean of course certain countries still have a very hard time with proper health care and can die easily. But if you live in a "first" world esp America they literally hand out pills and medication on clinic street corners. With the proper paper work of course. Aids is still not an easy thing but with modern medicine the shit really actually isn't a big deal.

If people in America round here dying of Aids, they dumb. LOL

    OR....

They don't know they are HIV positive
They're poor or lower income and don't have access to health care (many blacks in Alabama and Mississippi for example)
They could be addicted to drugs so symptoms of HIV may be masked by symptoms / side effect of hard core drug use.
There could be deep seated psychology or mental issues that could be impeding obtaining proper care.

Absolutely everything you state. I wasn't being completely serious. Maybe it was my dark humor.
