2018 Grammy nominations are here! On Tuesday (Nov. 28), Andra Day revealed the Big 4 categories -- best new artist, record of the year, song of the year, and album of the year -- live on CBS This Morning, and shortly thereafter, the Recording Academy announced the nominees in all 84 categories.

JAY-Z leads the pack with eight nominations this year, including nods for album of the year, record of the year, song of the year and best rap album.

Kendrick Lamar follows with seven nods, while Bruno Mars is the third most-nominated artist with six. SZA is 2018's most Grammy-nominated woman with five nods; Khalid, Childish Gambino and producer No I.D. also scored five noms.

Check out the complete BLACK ARTIST list of 2018 Grammy nominees below. Any category with more than five nominees means there was a tie; the eligibility period for the 2018 Grammys extended from Oct. 1, 2016 to Sept. 30, 2017.

The Grammys will air live on CBS from Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday, Jan. 28. The final round of Grammy voting runs from Dec. 7-21.

It's hard for artists like Ledisi and Mali to be put in the same category as Bruno when stations who play Bruno would never play them. The more pop leaning artists shouldn't even be in the R and B category. That's why people like Timberlake, Sam Smith, and Bieber end up getting BET nominations.

I do feel that is somewhat true but if you look at the culture of America, then you know that hip-hop has surpassed rock n roll and pop as the #1 genre. I am happy to see black artists getting their just due. I will be watching. Jay-Z will be getting the lifetime achievement award.

i could two fucks about the grammys they are just using black artists to get ratings and then 2019 will be back to all white, hollyweird and the music industry has been losing ratings and views when it comes to their mayo ghost dog award shows so they do what they always do which is use our people to give them ratings again! i won't be tuning in to this mess but congrats to the black artists but they are merely puppets at the end of the day

LOL. Let's see what happens come 2019. Black culture is truly reflective of the music industry landscape currently and it will be for a long time. Hip-Hop is the #1 genre over rock and roll so I am happy that the 2018 Grammy Awards reflect what is actually going on culturally.

yes that's true but let's be honest, white folks are using these artists to get us to watch and also take a festival like AFROPUNK give it some years and it'll be whiter than a Grammys after party, it is becoming gentrified, just like Hip Hop and R&B are becoming white washed left and right cause black folks keep letting people into our culture!

Time will tell honestly but the fact of the matter is that Black culture is thriving on TV/film and definitely in music. It is a good time for black artists. The time is now.

I mean yeah but there are artists like Post Malone, Tekshai 6'9, lil pump raising on the charts of billboard which btw fuck billboard cause they took rakim and pac off the greatest rappers list or some list a while ago so you see they are showing how they really feel about our culture, and you have lil yatcht, lil uzi vert mumbling ass raising on the chart and just disrespecting the culture

Billboard just like any publication is entitled to their opinions. Would anyone consider Billboard to be one of the renowned representative publications on Black culture? Not at all.

As far as the "mumble rap" and the changes in music, all eras have experienced music that people said "was not good music". That happened in the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s and it will continue. I just believe that all music is "real music" but it all depends on what you consider "real music to you" and what resonates with you. All those different songs across all genres serve a purpose. No one wants to be in the club dancing their butt off to some conscious/backpack rap. People want to just have a good time and enjoy life. Then when you're vibing out then you can have something that is more of substance in contrast to the opposite. That's how I see it anyway... what say you?

okay and i'm not saying that people have to only listen to conscious artists but let's not allow these mumble rappers or white/non-black rappers to come in and colonize the culture and take over our shit! like they did with rock n roll, jazz and blues and country which all originated from black people. you can have your club bops that's fine but don't get mad when hip hop ends up becoming white/non-black because we only focus on one aspect of the genre i.e. club bops and drug influencing music
