    Squad, its the 4th Quarter of 2015.

    Who's up for a Clean Eating (and Workout) Challenge for (at least) the rest of the year?

    No junk food, no fried food, no fast food, no alcohol allowed.

    I went to the grocery store last night and grabbed a few things to get me started. I couldn't fit everything in the photo but the rest was either leafy green or some other foods that grew out of the ground.

    Time to put down the pizza and wings and eat right. Time to cut out the binge drinking and instead drink tons of water. If you had a gluttonous summer like I did, then you're just begging for a reason to make a change.

    I don't think it's a big deal, but aren't those baked barbecue chips sort of like healthy junk food, like reduced fat snacks or diet soda? On a positive note, it looks like a good haul, and having some healthy "junk" around is better than trying to avoid snacks altogether, going through withdrawal and picking up something totally unhealthy. I'm opting out of the challenge. I intend to generally eat clean, but occasionally unexpected opportunities arise, especially around the holidays, and I don't intend to turn them down.

    HA!I'm poor a college student, man. And I live in the hood there ain't no healthy food joints around here. However, I do eat a lot of canned fruit and drink a lot of water.

    It's all about moderation...also I feel like you go crazy if you cut out ALL indulgences. My cabinets normally look like the table at kids birthday party.

    Eating clean... Well the best I can. Lol on the weekends it's whatever but during the week I'm paying attention. Tracking my food on my fitness pal, already kicked up gym visits.

    This is a crucial time to get in the gym because if you get things going now it'll be easier when the Resolutionists hit the gym in January.

    Keeping track of your food is key. If you sit back and look at what you have been eating, the good and bad, and look at where your results are or are not, you can go right back to three Thursdays ago when you had three honey buns, a family sized bag of hot Cheetos , and two orders of Buffalo wings.

    It's a little tedious at first and takes a while to really get into it but it helps to hold you accountable.

    Yeah that is true for sure. I'm a naturally slim dude so I haven't been too concerned with what I eat (for the most part) but I would rather start doing better at it now rather than waiting until fat-guy-dancing-to-my-humps-o.gif

    Yeah...a lack of progress in the gym, even for naturally slim dudes, is usually traced back to a poor diet.

    I'm down! As for eating those indulgent foods, I save that for one meal on the weekend that is no more than 3500 calories in one sitting. That works for me. I usually only get to around 2000 or 2500 for my cheat entree and a dessert that I order out from somewhere like Chik-Fil-A or another local restaurant or a chain restaurant like Chili's or Olive Garden. Aside from that I cook everything I eat and I make it to the gym as much as graduate school allows me to.

    During the week it is all about portion control. During the past 9 months since I went from 220 to 185, I really LEARNED how to eat. I learned to eat to live and NOT to live to eat. That is key. Also at the end of the day, the only way to lose weight is to expend more calories than what you put into your body. Very important.

    Pass up on 3 of the four 8,000 calorie Thanksgiving dinners you attend and see some gains this spring and summer.

    Ruben, lol. Nah, Im in shape, but I also go to the gym regularly. I literally sometimes have to work w/o a shirt, so the gym is kind of a regular part of my life.

    Im human and don't wana go sometimes, but once I get into the gym, Im pretty good to go.

    And while I do eat a lot of bacon, my eating habits aren't super terrible.
