Who all seeing Black Panther over the weekend?

Me and my dude already bought tickets for next Friday. It's gonna be the 4D screening, so we're pretty excited. It's part of our Valentine's Day Weekend festivities, so we plan to dress nice. We're not doing full on dashikis, but we're trying to do a little something to commemorate the motherland. We'll see how that goes.

 

Im gonna see it opening weekend, but not any showing after 6 pm. Im really particular when it comes to my movie going experience in regards to what theaters I attend and (clears throat) what "audience" I surround myself with.

I love my people, but we have all been burnt too many times when it comes to our people and the movie theater. Especially a movie like this with the excitement level of my black people. Im sure it will be a lot of outside food brought in and entire families including infants that cry through out the whole film. Dont get me wrong, I love that it will be a whole black experience at theaters in that way, I just won't be apart of it for the first time I see it. Maybe I will choose a LIT theater time and location for the second weekend after I have already saw it quietly where I was able to fully concentrate.

Im seeing that bad boi very 2pm at a predominately white theater in a high end neighborhood. When it comes to comedies or some hood movies like Girls Trip and Straight Outta Compton, I dont mind going to the LIT theater at the 8pm showing because I already know how people are going to act and thats part of the experience. But when its a movie I really want to concentrate on and take serious, Im bougie as fuck. Im good at finding hours and theaters where im one of few black people in that joint.

I feel as though my brother is going to drag me with him on opening weekend, knowing that I hate crowds.

 

I most definitely will be checking out Black Panther in the movie theater. 1: to support black super heroes 2: because I'm fan of Chadwick Boseman, Michael B Jordan, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett and many of the talented actors in the film. These GIFs sold the movie for me too.
