In some ways I envy you Millennials. You grew up in an age where Gays are pretty much accepted and you have personal computers in your pockets in the form of Smartphones. All of you have nice slim bodies and wear skinny jeans…and if you aren’t slim, there’s a thing called “fat shaming” now that makes it taboo to even mention the BMI chart.

But in many ways, I pity you fools. As a Generation X’er, I grew up idolizing manly men who worked hard and didn’t care for “weak” things like emotions and caring for the feelings of others. Oh sure, they made me ashamed of my homosexuality and paranoid about anyone finding out that I was gay, but they were guys’ guys. Sounds bad when I think about it, but I turned out alright.

Now these youngins have people like Jaden Smith to look to for guidance. The latest message he sends to his flock:

Jaden’s father Will, one of my generational peers, told us that “parents just don’t understand.” His son, on the other hand, says that if he wears a dress, it will set a “new wave” and everyone will.

This is the future of the culture?

    Aight cool.

Maybe Jaden is on to something…

I think it will trend like everything else. I do think the Millennials and Centennials are less hung up on the social constraints of previous generations because the culture has shifted dramatically in recent years. I also think there is less attribute to sexuality. Just because you wear a skirt or dress or romper doesn't automatically mean anything about your sexuality. We could say that men and boys are far more secure in their sexuality than in previous generations.

With that being said, Jaden Smith is a C-level actor and D-level rapper and I am not sure how much clout he has in shifting trends in any meaningful way.

P.S. My legs are too hairy for dresses and skirts.

    Issa NOPE!

It is hard enough for me to find pants in my size as a thick dude with a phat ass. I don't have time for it to be extra hard looking for a skirt.

Jaden Smith is hardly representative of reality. He's a famous kid with two famous parents who lives in a very protected insular entertainment environment. Tyrone and LaMarcus from around the way will still get their asses kicked for wearing a dress. Yes non-heterosexual are more accepted among Millennials and Generation Z but that tolerance is still limited to more liberal pockets of the country like major cities and the coasts. Southern America and fly over state America still is not accepting of LGBTQXYZ123@&+%. Also a majority of black America will still look sideways at any boy or a man were to wear a dress. Just like most of black America thinks Will, Jada, and the kids are part of the "illuminati" and have been corrupted by Hollyweird. The same applies to these new school rappers with colored dreadlocks and face tattoos.

1st why the need to even announce it just do u brih if thats what u feel. :nopekid: men have been in "shirts" "dress" sense the being of time; its just more about culture people don't fuss about it.

But these celebs are doing it for shock; the stuff they wear is wired and ugly. Like with all the stylist at ur discretion u could not pick something better than that. :gucci:

Traditional cultural clothing doesn't count a dress to me. Even in those cultures there is a clear difference between what men and women wear, even more strict gender roles, and even more harsh social and legal consequences for male homosexuality.

if the dude wants to wear a dress let him do what he wants people can if they want. I mean it's not that serious really. And there are dudes that can pull it off .... it is known.

If you wanna do manly stuffy stuff that's fine man, but give others the space to do them too . There is enough space for both to opperate

Jaden with looks and a body like that you can wear anything, if you wear anything at all. That said, my initial gut reaction was similar to Mr. Delmacy's until I remembered a crush I had on a hot masculine Scottish dude rocking a kilt. Then I thought, well maybe Jaden is on to something after all. That said, he looks best in a skirt when he is shirtless, so I guess my position is a really a masculine workaround.
