As a record number of mailed in ballots get tallied I am grateful that it is nearing the end. I am speaking of this election. I viewed and listened to both sides thoughtfully. This included the debates, CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC. The smear ads were becoming increasingly aggressive and regular. The propaganda that was forwarded and shared on Facebook was problematic and unsurprisingly unbelievable but credible to most. I experienced the onset of my first panic attack due to the anxiety of the possible outcome of this election. Biden is projected to win which calmed me immediately. What I find interesting is the election shouldn't have been this close. What is additionally fascinating to me is I would like to know what reason or reasons did a voter cast his/her/they ballot for Trump.
I read that 55% of white women voted for him and 18% of black and brown men in spite and despite of Trump's expression of racism, sexism, xenophobia, lack of leadership in handling the pandemic which resulted in almost a quarter of a million deaths and the deterioration of the economy which resulted in closures of businesses and small businesses, record high unemployment rates but he bolstered claims of a thriving economy. Those who thrived were the billionaires who profited from the pandemic (pharma with the testing kits)and the manufacturers of the PPE gear and ventilators.
Also, his mismanagement in general. The turnover rate during his administration is unconscionable and record breaking. As of May 25,2020, there have been 415 that have either been dismissed or resigned. This number includes 181 staff of the Executive Office of the President alone. Trump lacks empathy and has been very unpresidential. He will certainly be noted in the history books and to several remembered and notoriously known as the disgustingly disgraced and Impeached single term President. There's a lot of work and healing that needs to be done for the country has never been this divisive. I will still show gratitude for 2020 for it revealed more than just hindsight; it shows how expansive and directive our vision needs to be to improve the lives for every American. I still have hope and with Biden's win a decent start for things to be transformative is on the horizon.

Yeah, this pretty much encapsulates my feelings as well. I had to partially remove myself from both social media and regular media on Tuesday because I was starting to get PTSD from 2016.

But honestly, although it isn't 100% certain yet, I'm feeling pretty confident. I can't deny my happiness about how things are turning out. But at the same time, I know that this one event isn't going to solve everything and I know conservatives and republicans are already thinking of ways to exploit the next few years to get someone like Trump back in office. But for the moment, I'm going to celebrate and be happy that this turd ass muhfucka is finally leaving office!

@acessential facts, bro. I must admit though curious about his last 90 days and the shenanigans that will ensue. Reports stated that Monday, the Senate's main focus will be on the stimulus package and Trump is urged to support this.

He's going to spend his last 90 days trying to incite a coup by using the courts. Fuck him.

I don't expect much to change under a Biden administration, but anything is better than these last four years.

Hey bro, I voted for Trump. Before I say why, I want to let you know that I am not a member of any political party. I do not like establishment republicans or democrats. In general, I am very anti-establishment. I am a former Bernie Bro turned Trump supporter. And yes Trump has a lot of flaws, and there are many things that I wish he would do but he doesn't do. So here are some of the reasons why I voted for Trump.

    1. He is the only only one that has the balls to place tarriffs on China. China is a big problem. The communist party of China is our number one threat that we face today. The CCP steals our jobs, technology, etc. Look what China is doing to the Uighurs. Putting them in "re-education camps," also known as concentration camps. He should order all U.S. companies to re-locate their manufacturing out of China. Yes, I'm a China Hawk. Australia, Canada are also in the middle of a trade dispute with China. So it is not just the U.S. And look what was going on in Hong Kong before Corona. Hong Kong was not going to back down from China. It took the virus to end the protest in Hong Kong. Biden is too connected to China. He wants a strong China Communist Party. I believe Biden is compromised. I'm concerned that Biden is going to remove the tarriffs against china. which I believe will be a big mistake if he does. (when I mention china, I'm talking about the Communist party, not the average Chinese person).
    2. Trump re-negotiated some of the trade deals. Although they are not perfect. He also shot down the TPP. I am not a globalist. Definatly not in the version of globalism they want.
    3. Brought back some of the manufacturing jobs that we lost.
    4. Made other NATO countries pay their fair share.
    5. Trump created Economic Opportunity zones. The city I live in is getting millions of dollars to fix up the fishing port/waterfront. Obama gave us nothing. In fact Obama gave us a Marine National Monument in the ocean.
    6. Fake News - Trump is correct, The main street media is not being honest with us. Russia collusion is a Hoax. Facebook, twitter, youtube are censoring/deplatforming people if they go against the narrative. Trump exposed the media for what they are. It's beginning to look like it is really China collusion. Just look at the Professor from Harvard that got arrested as one recent example for taking money from china, and the spies with Swallwell and Feinstein.
    7. I'm very anti-establishment. I do not want to go back to pre-2016. I'm looking for someone who will do the most damage to the status quo. The status quo does not work for me. Going back to Pre-Trump does not work for me. I believe Trump is the person we have right now that can do the most damage to the status quo. Biden is establishment. I couldn't vote for him.
    8. Biden is corrupt. he is for sale. Biden is compromised.
    9. Trump did not start any new wars.
    10. The peace treaties with Israel and United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Sudan.

I guess I'm really just a nationalist and believe in American values. I don't believe Biden is going to make things better. To me Biden represent the establishment, Just like Hillary Clinton. He is the past and I don't want to go back to pre-2016. I don't think the world is going to go back to Pre-Trump. To much has been changed and exposed. Of course Trump is un-presidential. That is part of the reason to vote for him. I don't want a polished "presidential" person right now. I want someone who is willing to dismantle the status quo and expose all the corruption. Is Trump corrupt himself? probably. Trump has to expose the fake news, Russia hoax, etc. He has to do all the election lawsuits, even if he loses every single one of the lawsuits, which he probably will.

One other thing I must say, is that we must stop fighting with each other. We can respectfully disagree. You should not be punished because of the candidate that you voted for.

Have a great holiday and new year everyone

Thank you for sharing. It is not about shaming anyone or their choices. I understand that most people vote for their interests. I am a free thinker and my politics lean conservative . This election was socially important as we trudge through a pandemic that has now claimed nearly 300k American lives. Trump has been very, in my opinion, self satisfying . The policies that he advocates for is for the 1%. His Twitter rants are impulsive ,attacking, irresponsible and viciously opinionated .I find most laughable, actually. Social media is to blame in part for promoting and casting wrong information as verifiable fact. While "fake news" and "alternative facts " have been used to foster his cult like following. He is a fascist and refuses to concede as it is an admission of his loss by more than 7M votes. People showed up in record numbers because this election mattered. The Presidency was simply too huge of a job to successfully do for Trump. I see charges filed on the state levels for he has broken several laws. One wonders why is he considering on exercising pardoning those who served closely with him. Everything is about ego and not for the consensed betterment of the people who are suffering economically , mentally, socially, and in health.
I respect your choice, opinion, and share. You are not wrong so there could never be any judgment. I am more hopeful with the President elect than the last Administration . I would want people to respect his position and want to see more bipartisanship. There has been very intentional criticism and non support in the Senate which prevents getting anything done. The Georgia Senate election is a game changer and I will carefully watch for its results.
Thanks again, Apollo for your feedback and highlighted considered points . Both are valid.
