I used to go to Huffington Post but stopped once they started requiring people have Facebook accounts in order to comment. I refuse to worship at the altar of Facebook.

I go there but don't feel the need for responding to their articles on their site. I just don't have time to deal with gen pop on polarizing subjects. I like to read responses they are too big to get swept in on topics. I'm OK with opposing views but Facebook attracts tooooo many "someone's wrong on the innanet" types got me.

The only blog I have saved as a tabbed bookmark is Cypher Ave, I check it daily. I like mused but forget about it often.

My main source has to be cypher avenue. I discovered this site back at varsity whilst googling "black gay news" because at that time (still the same today) there weren't enough websites dealing with issues most relevant to sgl (masculine) men of colour.

I used to visit mused mag but I can't remember the last time I went there.

Locally I visit mambaonline (www. mambaonline.com) -which is like the most up to date gay website in my country.

The only other local website is Exit.

The problem with gay websites in my country is that they're dominated by white South Africans from content to advertising. For me as an African gay dude, cypher avenue remains my primary source of news, discussion and insights etc.

Love Works is great. I think Juan and Gee deserve massive props for their work.

Although I think once you're out of a relationship or not dating it becomes a bit irrelevant.

Dude, I had a whole essay that I had written you based on your introduction. I wanted to hear more about what was going on there from your perspective-but this is not the place for that. I deleted it.

Glad to have you here. I see you have jumped in and made yourself at home around here. It took me a minute. But everyone is pretty dope around here. I can't say anything bad. Looking forward to talking with you.

Sounds like South Africa and the U.S. have a lot in common. White gay supremacy dominates.

He was a site regular back in the day. Mostly commented on the posts about films and web series. Once he started his own site he understandably stopped coming here as much. But yeah, props to him. He always thought we were too harsh on the black gay filmmakers so his site is much less critical of them.

I don't really follow LGBT sites as much as individual authors. Zach Stafford, a Chicago based activist who writes for the UK's Guardian is a regular for me,
    Zach Stafford | The Guardian

as is Rafi D'Angelo, whose opened my eyes on black gay fem perspectives, plus he writes like a modern day Dorothy Parker/HL Mencken and cracks me the hell up even when I don't agree with him.
White gays keep going out of their way to... | SLTA___

Sadly, I wish there were more sites that focused on what gay/bi brothers were doing in other areas of life outside entertainment and pop culture, I.e. medicine/science/business/entrepreneurship. I live by the adage "intelligent people discuss ideas, mediocre people discuss personalities and events." In other words, a site needs to come at me like James Baldwin not Perez Hilton. Sadly, most gay sites just want to be mediocre and not dare to be different like CA. I keep a low profile online and in real life because I'm a tiny minority among black gay men as I'd rather discuss Richmond Barthe and Alain Locke than RuPaul's Drag Race (not that there's anything wrong with it...)

    The problem is twofold:

    1) Gay people doing work in areas of medicine/science/business/entrepreneurship aren't advertised as much. Like, a black gay guy who creates a telecommunications start-up, how would we know he was gay? A white tech gay guy who lives in San Francisco seems more likely to want his open homosexuality to be part of his business launch than a black gay guy in Atlanta.

    2) People always say they want one thing, but even on this site we don't get a lot of hits and comments on posts/articles that have nothing to do with pop culture and entertainment. The occasional police brutality post gets folks talking, but a lot of ppl skip the business/politics/science/self-help posts.

So I try to keep posting reviews and updates on gay films and web series because ppl seem to keep coming back for that type of content more.

    1) Yeah, everyone is not going to be a Tim Cook or Peter Thiel. It's interesting because there are some studies that show open gay black men actually do better in corporate pay than straight/closeted/DL men. I also think it's the kind of work you do, too, and where you do it. For example, the fact that BlackGuyExecutive and I both are public sector, but his department (for now) is way more accepting whereas mine is full of chickenshit chicken hawk right leaning types.

    2. Yeah, I know. It is what it is. I would just keep encouraging people to just post whatever. A place for everything, everything in its place. That's not just this site, its humanity in general. Thats why I cited the AMP coding. Since people are looking for certain content, you might as well push CA to the top of the discussion pyramid.

First, this is my regular go-to site.
On a local media level, The Washington Blade (Washingtonblade.com) and Metro Weekly (metroweekly.com) sites are regular hits and have been for years.
I used to check in to GList Society but it has fallen off the radar.
From time to time if I am looking for entertainment I check in to Queerty or Towleroad.
A sister recommended Elixher (Elixher.com) and I wander over from time to time.

It's a sign of my approaching senility that I forgot a really good website - although again it is local to Washington - http://rainbowhistory.org/

At http://rainbowhistory.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/africanamerican-web.pdf you can find the guide to the organization's walking tour of sites associated with the African American LGBT community in DC.

Transcribed interviews with many of African American LGBT figures are also archived at the site. I was a board member and president of Rainbow History for many years and although I am no longer active the group, run by volunteers continues to do great work and the site is regularly updated.

    Definitely worth a visit.

I like InsideJamariFox.com and I also check in on RonaldMatters.com from time to time. Outsports is another one which is cool, but Nick mentioned that already. Shameless plug, you can also check out thencrowd14.com.

The comment section on Inside Jamari Fox is pretty active.

maybe I'll take a peak at anyone that linked a website lol 'cause I don't use anything else other than here in terms of LGBT content. I find anything else on youtube, twitter, facebook.

This was a favorite over the years, sort of a one-stop-shop for a multitude of gay links
    a{GAY}tekeeper{iam}

Also this young Aussie reminds me of @ColumbusGuy i.e. sincere ally for black gay issues. He always finds the best news links for a multitude of both black and mainstream gay news stories (his in-the-news threads, also has great gay artist links)

I am not much of an ally in that I have virtually no impact IRL unfortunately. Circumstances are a bitch.

I appreciate it, but just being 'real' and all. Best I could do was get a few people to NOT vote for Trump, and look how that turned out. Oh well. Such is life.
