American Crime

Is it on Netflix ?

 

Nope, ABC lol. It's an amazing show. While this season's topic may be more controversial, I think last season seems to be a better season. The acting and cinematography on this show is amazing.

I don't watch American Crime but I do watch Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story on FX (American Horror Story spin-off I guess). The first season is about the OJ Trial and the second season will be about Hurricane Katrina. So far its really good.

 

Each episode is like a mini-film. This is my first season watching but all of the characters are so nuanced and real. You can love and hate them all at the same time, and you still only know half the story.

 

I never really got Cuba. He just doesn't do it for me as an actor. Me and my fella are going to binge-watch this one, though. He loves the OJ story (and the failings of the legal system in general.)

 

I like the show... a lot. The mother of the boy is going to drive me insane. She is a prime example of how sometimes intervention by a parent can make things worse... but overall, great show and its entertaining.

 

I'm thoroughly enjoying American crime and American Crime story. Oj did it but I truly believe the LAPD planted evidence. Please google "EDTA OJ". Mind blown.

Yea this is the first time in a long time I actually look forward to sitting down and watching a show at its scheduled time. Usually I just watch it On Demand or Hulu.

 

Yeah. Love American Crime, mostly this season. The scope on rape, homophobia, and internal homophobia is remarkably captured and highlighted. And the aspect of racism and political injustice in the school system is also captured and highlighted well.

 

I like this too, I will agree that Cuba might be the weakest link, but it's a pretty strong chain.Cuba aside, the casting is SPOT ON and the writing is good. I'm concerned about the second season being Katrina, and not only because I'm from NOLA, but there's more interesting crimes out there. Someone suggested the Jonbenét Ramsey or Casey Anthony stories and those sound PERFECT.

I have the whack cable package (which still costs too much) but Ima have to check it out online. Previews looked rly interesting.

 

Yeah this show is pretty good. I need go back and watch the first season now. Regina King is always dope.

I haven't caught American Crime Story though. I'm not a huge fan of Cuba so anything with him in a starring role, meh.

I actually have been watching American crime religiously since it's premiere this season. And I have to admit the way they are telling this story is fascinating. Because just when I think I've got it figured out.... I DONT! In fact last weeks episode (don't tell me what happened this week I didn't watch it yet) when they had the kid jumped I was baffled it seems sexuality plays a subtle tone within the show and the focus is really on rape and I love that! Because I was worried they would demonize the gay guys on the show

 

What I find interesting is how all of the gay characters have been masculine. A part of me thinks thats a conscious decision, as an attempt to subliminally show how 'similar' gay ppl can be to you, and to not isolate the gay teens.

 

Right. It's still a mystery to me the role the young black dude plays in all this. I also hate that I can't tell who's lying and who isnt. Both guys seem credible.

 

I literally just started Season 1 on Tuesday and I'm already hooked. Watching the finale EP now so I can catch up with Season 2. I had no idea it was anthology series though. We need more shows like this, if not for the intentional storytelling, but for the top tier production quality overall. So glad I gave it a chance!

 

Ok, so after watching this week's episode, I don't know if I can continue to watch lol. This episode was entirely too real and traumatic for me. I haven't been in any of those situations, but it seemed triggering AF. I've never had a TV show affect me like that. It really messed me up for a minute lol

 

So tell me how after last week, I was like "wow really"? Did he have to shoot him, like dangggg!! I love this show but hate it at the same time. I hate it because It keeps way on the edge of my seat, to where I'm scared for everyone. Like who else felt the panic for the mom when the police called her about where her son was? and then when Kevin got beaten up in the car by the older guy, it was like whoa! And that man beating him up was soooo uncalled for. My theory is the whole team somewhat raped him.I was scared for the boy too.

 

Kudos on the writers for showing the unpretty sides of things...

But dont ruin the show for all of the newbies jumping on the band wagon. U gotta dm us!

 

I'm sorry I wasn't even thinking!!! I thought about that too if whether or not I'd be spoiling it for anyone. I'll keep this is in mind for future posts.
