New Full Length X-Men Trailer...still not impressed

When you don't follow the authentic comic book story line for the reason of film creative licensing you get a crappy ass movie made by Brian Singer. This movie is going to be garbage like all the other X-Men movies before it.

I'm "excited" only off the strength that I love X-Men since I was a boy, so I just like to see the characters fleshed out. I'm able to separate my mind from the lack luster plot lines. LOL Also, I'm really not feeling Apocalypse, tho. I've always envisioned him as having a deep ass, synthesized, reverberating "James Earl Jones"/ "Michael McCary" kinda voice.

 

AND MY SOUL IS WILLING!!!

 

Keith David could also have done the voice or the role justice.

 

See, that's why we go buzzed but not fully drunk and drink during the movies. The only ones that alcohol couldn't improve in any way were Terminator: Genesys and Age of Ultron, two steaming turd piles that I doubt even weed could improve on.

 

Yeah, It looks kinda if-fy. But I'm a huge Apocalypse fan since I was a kid. So not seeing this movie would be personal "blaspheme" for me. I hope it surprises us all and is hella good.

At least we see the biomolecular thing going on with him turning giant than small. Now if was see his limbs turn into guns or he turns into a jet like he can historically do, that'll be major.

I don't think 20th century fox has ever put enough resources or heart into making the xmen franchise as great as it is in the comics. They always do the bare minimum to produce a film and rely on the comics existing popularity to make it a success. I have feeling that the upcoming Inhumans franchise is going to fill in for them in the MCU.

 

I don't mind them not following the Age of Apoc storyline to the letter, but it doesn't seem like they're willing to even honor the spirit of the characters which is my issue. Mystique is not a mentor for young mutants and Magneto would never allow himself to be controlled by Apocalypse. I'm still going to see it, but I've long since accepted that these X-Men are X-Men in power and name only.

 

That's the only development that I do really appreciate. They have the potential to turn Mystique into the third voice of the future, opposing both Charles and Erik's style and mentoring young mutant towards her own visionary path.

 

They're not doing that, though. She's just bouncing back between the other two's ideals. Mystique has always been about Mystique (and maybe Destiny and Destiny's visions of the fate of mutant kind.) I just can't get with this indecisive, whiney, but almost warm and fuzzy version of her.
