So would you do any of these? If so, which ones? Any other summer fun things you can think of that you might try?

Hot Air Balloon Rides - Virgin Balloon Flights Shrewsbury

Diving Dog: Pet Jack Russell ‘Titti’ Jumps From Rocks With Her Owner

Shooting Barrett 50 Cal Sniper Rifle [for the first time]

I would actually be up for doing most of these. The roller coaster, the bungee jump, the skydiving(but only with an instructor attached). The diving with the dog, Shooting the gun.

I would not do the hot air balloon(those things burn and crash), the swimming with the devil(just too damn terrifying), and the scuba diving(too many things could go wrong).

Defintely, the Sniper if nothing else.
    Scuba Diving (instructor along)

I would love to do the sky events. One of those bucket list things. But ever since I saw this guy having a seizure in the sky... Can you imagine?

^^That is the one I would not do alone-I would have to have the instructor hooked on to my back or something. And others around too skydiving in case the instructor had a seizure or heart attack or something and I froze up in panic and could not remember to pull the damn cord myself.

Too many things could go wrong with scuba diving but I guess I might do it but in a relatively safe place in shallow water with lots of people there.

I am terrified of hot air balloons and I would freak that it would get caught in wind and drift into electric wires or it would catch on fire. Those things are just big bags with occasional cannons of fire shooting up hot air into them from the gondola!

That swimming with the devil thing? Right at the edge of Victoria Falls and being swept over to fall 300 feet onto the rocks below? no safety equipment? hell no! (maybe if I was the only tourist doing it and there were like at least 5 or 6 muscular local men who were experts at doing that who I could uh...'grasp a hold of' to feel a bit safer LOL. "Oh sorry guy was that your ass I was grabbing onto? I was just scared')

If I lived in Malta by the sea I would be swimming with that dog every day and be in the best damn shape. Malta has been voted as having the best climate on Earth. I could do Malta and I love dogs!

I am absolutely going to do the bungee jumping before I die. That is one I must do. To go against every instinct in your body and it would just be like throwing yourself off a tall building. The fear would be so great but the rush and satisfaction after would be worth it!

Being former USN anything involving water is always at the top of the list. I'd probably try bungee, depending on who was doing it and how confident I was in their training, set-up, etc.

I used to love to rappel many years ago. Might try that again before year's end.

Had enough of guns and rifles in the military and Iraq. Before then, I used to enjoy assisting my S3 with the battalion weapons qual on the M16 and 9mm. I usually don't trust civilians with heavy weapons, so I'd pass on that. Plus living in a city that makes Fallujah look like Six Flags has totally turned me off from weapons as entertainment and sport.

No cliff rappelling! anything where I could easily make a mistake and kill myself is out lol. I would do the bungee jumping because I would be trusting (and paying for) professionals. I know there are places not far away in West Virginia. I need trained people around to make sure I don't accidentally kill myself.

That swimming with the devil thing? People actually do die doing that. The last fatality over-the-edge I could find was 2009. Maybe not so much on that one.

Actually, the last time I went rappeling was in your neck of the woods...woods literally, in Newark. Rappeling is probably safer than bungee jumps. Everyone had to rappel when I went through basic (years ago, dont know if thats still true). The Newark one was through the Scouts. I learned how good the training was after I slipped off the cliff and the d ring and rope kept me suspended in air as I dangled off the cliff face. Damn, I'm going to have to find my old rappeling manuals. Maybe try it with a c ring and leather harness this time...

Newark? There are cliffs in Newark? I thought the nearest cliff type stuff was in the Hocking Hills? I would want to optimally jump from one of those tall bridges in West Virginia. I would need to have depends on though.

I'm a fairly adventurous type willing to try anything at least twice so there's not much on that list I wouldn't give a go.
I have an intense fear of water and of things in it but if I was in a relationship and they were willing to be by my side, id be down.
I'd do that whole list though.

Swimming is mostly getting just learning to be comfortable in water. Hit the pool at the local Y or men's club. Once you get comfortable (float on your back or stomach without sinking) I guarantee you almost can't make yourself drown. In basic, we had people who went from, in a week, can't-swim-at-all to meeting the Navy qualification of diving from a 15-foot board feet first, floating five five minutes then swimming the length of an Olympic size pool. Marine recruits do all that with full gear and rifle in the pool. It's all mental, mind over matter.

Although, these days, I could do without the people standing on side screaming, "Free Willy! Free Willy! Free Willy!" I get it, I don't have a Michael Phelps bod, lol.

I appreciate the advice but it's not so much the swimming part, it's the open water and what my overactive imagination believes lurks within.
I can get in a pool or up to my chest at the beach for a few minutes before I start to panic about what may be swimming next to and trying to molesterate me.

When they say "Free Willy!" Are they looking down at your crotch and licking their lips? Cuz it might mean something different than you think it means.

Lol. You "free" Willy in a public place and there's an offender list they introduce you to. Which is ironic. I've been told by older guys that at one time males were *required* to swim naked at Ys and high schools because of hygiene beliefs. Nude Beach is on my bucket list, though, but I got many more months in the gym before that's ever gonna happen!

I feel you on open water. I stick to pools because warm, open waters carry four things I'm not dealing with: sharks, gators, jellyfish, and flesh eating bacteria and amoebas. Then there's those other things that Mother Nature comes up with to make your balls draw up from fear
Fact or Fiction? The Urethra Invading Fish

I might try the Pacific Northwest of Atlantic Northeast one day, however, depending on conditions.

^^ Don't forget about leeches. My brother was canoeing and went into a creek near here and was in for a little while and when he came out huge leeches all over his legs. Had to burn them to get them to drop.

About 30 yrs ago in NYC, Wall Street Bally's used to have male only days and the naked swimming was in abundance...and as far from hot and sexy as some might picture!
I've heard of (must be gay) urethra lovin fish before and yeah, nah!
Love the Pacific Northwest...love the West period.

@ColumbusGuy: Oh THANK YOU for reminding me of one more thing I *adored* about Southern Ohio as a kid, but had forgotten.

Ok, @Tyroc, there are FIVE THINGS about open water....

Alright, adding "must have backyard pool" to my plans for a future house. That fish is reminding of things I enjoy in the water with company besides swimming....
