Embarrassing Stories

A couple of years ago, I was hanging out with a few friends who were sick of staying in the dorms every weekend. That Saturday night, they decided to go skating at Cascade (popular ATL skating rink for those who don't know). It's not my first choice for fun as I haven't skated in forever, but I went with it anyway. Besides, every time I went skating as a kid, I was pretty decent besides a small stumble here and there. That was fifth grade. By this time, I'm a college sophomore...

I walk in with my friends all cool and collected, just knowing I'll get into the groove of skating like I always did. On the carpeted area, I put on the skates and stand up. Upon my first step, I stumble, and not one of those small-little-kid stumbles. It was like a newborn giraffe. Of course, first thing I saw were couple of people getting chuckling, but I shook that off.

My friends and I get to the rink. They take off smoothly and glide off like free spirits. I fell. Not only was I on the floor, but I struggled just to stand back up. Some dude, a ref or something, had to pick me up and guide me to the center of the rink because I'm already breaking the flow of the other skaters. Visibly aggravated, he told me "People who don't skate go to the center." One of my friends must've seen this because he met me over there and tried to give me some pointers. Nothing he's saying is actually helping though. Amidst all the slipping, I noticed I was the only one falling. Looking around all confused...these mofos were DANCING! IN THE SKATES! It was like Roll Bounce! Roll Bounce on the outside of the rink, and Roll Bounce in the center! I'm literally the only person here who can't skate.

At that point, I'm just frustrated and getting a little hostile with my friend because of it (probably stretched out his shirt from grabbing at it so roughly). In what was the worst fall ever, though - the worst one: I slipped and slid straight into this random dude's crotch! I'm flailing on the floor and crap, but I still couldn't stand up on my own, so I gotta wait for this dude to move or help me up. And guys, his expression was full of disgust and disdain.

When I finally got to my feet, I figured I should just take the L and sit this one out. I stumbled my way over to the carpeted area, sat on a bench, and waited until my friends were ready to go about an hour later.

 

Whichever you want. Just don't leave me hanging lol

 

That's what I should've done. Instead of playing it safe, I played myself smh
