    So this is OK but as a masculine gay / non heterosexual man, I have to conform by watching Pose, "stop trying to act straight", live in my truth by using female pronouns, and etc?

    My thing is; there is obviously nothing wrong with being an effeminate leaning man but why does the definition of masculinity need to change to conform to femininity?

    Also, if a man is living in his truth and proud of his femininity; why would he then want to be labeled masculine?

    ....but this is venturing into territory I promised @Nick Delmacy I would stay away from so let me bow out of this here thread

    For the sake of conversation:

    This honestly shouldn't even have been about masculinity. This video actually raises the question of gender necessity in our evolving society, period. They're trying to expand the definition of masculinity when really the solution is to just let people be who they are without placing them in categories (obviously muuchh easier said than done).

    You're going to end up expanding so much on either end, masculinity and femininity, that they actually become one and the same. With the gradual acceptance of LGBTAthroughZ, what will gender even mean at that point - it will lose it's utility

    I totally agree with everything u said bro. :babylawd:

    This is my issue with the mainstream LGBT/Queer movement what ever u call it. Even in the "LGBTQIA" name, they are soooo hungry for mainstream assimilation. Wanting to be all things to all people and want to be accepted by everyone. I just want to yell Its OK to be different!

    Instead they should try to get ppl to accept people for who or whatever they are. Get ppl to appreciate their differences and not judge them negatively because of it.
