I'm working on a project and part of it is to find prominent members of the black SGL community. The thing is, it's been a huge challenge. I'm super frustrated because I know we're out there, I just don't know where we are. Have you ever tired to look for a black, gay lawyer on Google? Do you know what its like to get no results??!?!? I'm glad we have places like this, but where are we outside of here? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I'm so annoyed.

    Instagram and Facebook.

You're going to likely need to just jump down the Gay By Association wormhole and DM guys directly. Most black nonheterosexual professionals are not making it public.

Next to that, Craigslist posts in major cities would also be a good place. Create a new email address, Put up your postings and wait.

I agree with Instagram and Facebook. I look at everyone on here like my online brothers and a way to pull information from some of the "older Kats". I'm sure one them will know of something much better.

Most professions have national organizations that advocate on behalf of and advance the interests of Black professionals: nationalbar.org (lawyers), nbmbaa.org (MBAs), nmanet.org (doctors). Those organizations may have affinity groups that cater to gay professionals within the profession.

The gays within given professions also have advocacy organizations: lgbtbar.org (lawyers), glma.org (doctors), reachingoutmba.org (MBAs). While Blacks are probably not represented in large numbers, you may be able to find a few who are members.

If you have LinkedIn account, you can probably find some leads there.

The following HBCUs have LGBT student centers: Bowie State, Fayetteville State, North Carolina Central State. You might as well turn over every stone.

Here are a couple of prominent gay lawyers: Steven Hanson, Nixon Peabody LLP; Seth Pearson, Foley & Lardner LLP.

Keith Boykin worked in the Clinton Administration.

    Good luck!

I came across this thought in my home buying process after dealing with a realtor who is cool and a black guy but he kept making statements like "your going to have all the girls in here huh ? ". I'm use to the "guy talk" but it crossed my mind how cool it would be to have one of us for every person I needed for the process. I did find a website that listed gay agents in my area but I ended up staying with the black guy because he was the owner and I wanted to support.
