I understand her train of thought but somebody should have told her the entity known as 'White Male Internet' was not gonna be happy with her statements, especially in our current climate. They're in an uproar on 4chan preparing for a boycott.

Actress Brie Larson wants less white men on her Captain Marvel press tour to foster diversity while promoting the upcoming superhero film.

While speaking to Marie Claire about Captain Marvel and the message she’s trying to ultimately convey with the film, Brie Larson spoke about which audience she and Marvel Studios are trying to reach. According to the film’s star, Captain Marvel should be seen as a movie that empowers women all over the world. Brie Larson insisted that even though she’s not against 40-year-old white men reviewing the film and asking her questions during the press tour, she would much rather have women of different ethnicities in the mix as well:

“About a year ago, I started paying attention to what my press days looked like and the critics reviewing movies, and noticed it appeared to be overwhelmingly white male. So, I spoke to Dr Stacy Smith at the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, who put together a study to confirm that. Moving forward, I decided to make sure my press days were more inclusive. After speaking with you, the film critic Valerie Complex and a few other women of colour, it sounded like across the board they weren’t getting the same opportunities as others. When I talked to the facilities that weren’t providing it, they all had different excuses.’”

Brie Larson is backing her decision in a study made by the University of Southern California’s Annenberg Inclusion Initiative which examined the race or ethnicity of every Rotten Tomatoes review of 2017’s 100 highest-grossing movies. The study showed that out of 19,559 reviews, white women only wrote 18.1%, men of color wrote 13.8% and 4.1% were from women of color. This leaves us with a whopping 63.9% reviews written by white men.

I respect her sentiment, but I think may get negative energy directed toward the film. The Anglo-Manosphere/MRA types will tear her to pieces over this. I think diversity is great but angry white men don’t like to be Reminded that the world doesnt revolve around them. Anyhow, good luck to her and her movie.

Shocking stats as well, smh :snoop:
