Its now being reported the NFL - Jay Z partnership will include Jay becoming part owner of a NFL team.

    Eric Reid said, "naw son"

“Jay-Z claimed to be a supporter of Colin, he wore his Jersey, he told people not to perform at the Super Bowl because of the treatment the NFL did to Colin, and now he’s going to be a part-owner,” said Reid, smiling and shaking his head. “He’s sounding despicable.”

Now its being reported that Jay convinced Jermaine Depree NOT to do the same damn thing he is doing right now.

The Jay-Z topic starts around the 14:35 mark.

“I’m not saying that it can’t turn into some good shit,” Cox noted. “We’re also talking about a guy who single-handedly picked up the phone and called Jermaine to tell him not to do it....When we all had that meeting with the NFL, all that shit was part of the same shit.”

“I’m not gonna condemn it and be like, ‘That shit’s wack,’” Cox added. “For me, I want to look at it intelligently because I know a lot of what was happening before and how we were engaged last year as a community...At the end of the day, [Dupri] took a beating for doing the same shit. And I guarantee you they didn’t pay him as much as they’re about to pay [Jay].”

I just don't care enough about Jay-Z, Kaep or the NFL to get outraged about all of this. Most ppl who "boycotted" the NFL came back around and now are tweeting about chicken sandwiches.

Speaking of tweets, Jay don't care about y'all outrage on social media. Didn't he tell y'all that he's "not a business man, he's a business, man." I'm sure his team has told him to weather the temporary social media storm for the long term financial benefits that will come. Y'all remember that H&M boycott? Me neither...

And to be fair (hot take coming!), Roger Goodell never killed a Black man in the line of duty. I believe this is the point that Jay inarticulately was trying to make. The "enemies" are the excessive force police officers, not the NFL as a whole. Yeah, Kaep had every right to kneel during the anthem in protest...but, as Maya Angelou told y'all, the league showed you who they were...BELIEVE THEM!

(Another hot take coming) If the NFL outrage is about Kaep not being back in the league, wouldn't it go against his "principles" to be a part of a league that clearly doesn't share his views? Especially if Jay-Z partnering with said league makes him a "sell out?" Wouldn't it make Kaep a "sell out" if he signed with the league again tomorrow?

Seems to me that it makes more sense for him to stay out of the league, and inspire other hoteps players to stand up for the people, just as Muhammad Ali did during the Vietnam War. If the NFL and Goodell are the enemy, all Black men who sign contracts with them are sell-outs, right?

It was fun to see misguided “thought leaders” at “The Root” go from praising all things Jay Z and Beyoncé one week to the dialectics of racial betrayal the next...

    I humorously couldn't agree more.

    Naw son.

I don't want (nor it shouldn't be) the bench mark for discrimination and white supremacy to rest on if the individual in question killed them a darkie while in a particular line of employment. Its already been proven Kaep's protest/opinion kept him from employment which is partly why he got paid in the settlement.

No. Segregationists didn't share the views of Blacks and the Civil Rights movement's views neither but Black people still went back to the same lunch counters where they were beaten and brutalized to eat pie and drink tea. The NFL was not only a dream that few make it to, it was his job, his livelihood. To take that away over a kneel is BS.
