If you’re a frequent viewer of the website The Root, then you should know that they never miss an opportunity to let viewers know that Black men are trash. Infamously stated “Black Men are the White Men of the Black Community”. Because of their history, I was curious to see how The Root would respond to the remarks from their own political editor and MSNBC contributor Jason Johnson’s comments about Black women who support Bernie Sanders and are apart of the Sanders’ campaign.

While appearing on SiriusXM’s The Karen Hunter Show, Johnson stated, “I do find it fascinating that racist liberal whites seem to love them some Bernie Sanders, consistently, and always have a problem with any person of color who doesn’t want to follow with the orthodoxy of their ‘lord and savior’ Bernie Sanders,”.

Johnson went on to say, “The man cares nothing for intersectionality, and I don’t care how many people from the island of misfit black girls that you throw out to defend you on a regular basis,”.

If Johnson would have spoken about racism and white liberals as it relates to the democratic party as a whole, I’m sure I would’ve echoed many of the presumed sentiments. Yet Johnson (and many NBC/MSNBC news pundits) make it sound as if Bernie supporters got racism on lock.

Following the remarks, MSNBC suspended Johnson who was a main stay on the news network for his political commentary. Johnson of course has since apologized for his opinions.

However what was the reaction from the uber moisturized, dripping with shea butter, the wokest of the woke, repository of the cook-out invitee list, Black Twitter recruiting and caller out of all things ‘misogynoir’, website known as The Root response to Johnson’s comments….muthafuckin crickets. The Root didn’t even cover the Black Twitter response to Johnson’s comments and they LOVE a good Black Twitter draggin hashtag moment but again crickets. Why though?

Then I came to realize there are two groups of Black women The Root will authorize a “Fuck That Black Bitch” hall pass for; Trump supporters and Bernie Sanders supporters.

Just like with MSNBC (who has compared Bernie supporters to Nazis), The Root doesn’t see a difference between Trump supporters and Bernie supporters, which as a Bernie supporter is insulting and offensive as fuck. Whether it’s Candace Owens, Diamond and Silk or Nina Turner, they’re all the same to The Root.

Regardless if they’re running for political office or supporting a particular democratic candidate, white racist liberals exists. What I find interesting is that the Black Delegation was all on board with Kamala Harris attacking Joe Biden during the debates over his support for white supremacist busing policies. Now that the Black Delegation has annotated Biden as the white Obama, if you support another candidate you’re the enemy…misogynoir be damned.

These are the same folk that talk about bringing the democratic party together to defeat Trump. What they really mean is that once you fall in line with their demands and ideals, then you can be welcomed with open arms. Luckily for them I’m not a mythical Bernie Bro who is gonna take his balls and go home when Biden clinches the Democratic nomination.

    It's complicated
One of the squad members posted this article in their feed. An Open Letter to White Liberals Blaming 'Low Information' Black Voters for Not Cleaning Up White Folks' Mess I think it sums up how some black Biden supporters feel about some white liberals and black Bernie supporters. There are put downs and insults going in both directions so no one has clean hands. If I could show you the string of texts from one of my brothers about how I'm not reading all of Bernie's platform and I'm just going along to get along etc, you would understand how some Black Biden supporters can feel attacked. Now I don't condone attacking black women outright but again it goes both ways. I think I get the sense that Bernie supporters consider themselves more "woke" than Biden supporters and thus superior. It comes across in so many ways; suggesting that somehow Bernie is always being cheated, suggesting that black people would support Bernie if they would just read his website, always asking why is it that young black voters support Bernie as if older black voters are a non-factor. It's hard for Bernie and Trump voters to believe that not everyone feels that Bernie and Trump are the only way to salvation. In regards to MSNBC being anti Bernie, I specifically recall the rolls being flipped in 2007/2008 during the Democratic Primary. As a Hillary supporter, she couldn't catch a break from MSNBC which skews demonstrably left. Am I shocked that they aren't singing Bernie's praise? Yes but I also can understand why. Even they don't think he can win and more importantly, Bernie doesn't seem to understand that he can't run the same ole campaign of bashing the top 1% and repeating that he has lots of small donors. It didn't work four years ago and it didn't this time, yet he refuses to change. That, in and of itself, gives me pause as to whether he can pivot in a general election if he gets into trouble.

I listen to Karen Hunter and Joe Madison daily, they're the only reason I keep my SiriusXF subscription (also Lou Hutt the black CPA and attorney). Somehow, I missed the Johnson episode. I actually agree with his characterization. Karen Hunter even raked a black female Bernie official over the coals on her show (THAT episode I did hear).

Sorry, Ock, while I believe you may have a sincere and principled support for Sanders, most black Bernie supporters I've heard sound like chocolate space cadets, like Rainbow's brother on "Blackish". They seem to have no connection to real black experiences or an understanding of the pragmatism of older black folk who actually lived authentic lives under worse conditions than GenXers or Millenials.

I learned early in life to ignore white "socialists" like Bernie. Our history is replete with opportunistic bloodsuckers like Sanders, who see the black experience as something to be coopted and manipulated rather than supported. I highly recommend Richard Wright's second autobiography " American Hunger" as required reading for any black person laboring under the phantasm that Sanders or any white socialist is even worth listening to. Also the works of Harold Cruse, a former black Marxist who realized the futility of blacks listening to worthless white "socialist" trash like Sanders.
