Dude is Suspect

I knew I couldn't be the only one who says this.

 

Half of all men are gay then, according to this.

 

I think you never really know.

I have nothing to add to this list because my mouth is still open on how this thread describes about 80% of regular-old, real life men. So, I'll keep it shut lol

 

Maybe 80% of men are suspect. Sometimes it feels like black women, gay men and straight men feel that way. Maybe more people are somewhere on the spectrum of bisexuality (or would consider it in an ideal society) than they'd like to admit but simply choose the path that seems simpler or preferable, or their interests in dabbling in uncharted waters is so light that they don't dwell on it. I also like that both polite and rude men are suspect. Anyone who deviates from standard heterosexual behavioral patterns is suspect, and now women have plenty of evidence that even those who exhibit that behavior aren't sure things, even when guys have made multiple babies or been with women all their lives through middle or even elderly age.

I can understand some of those. If you're secretive, especially if you're 30+, people assume you have a reason to be even if you just don't like people in your business. Unless you're in a double income, no kids situation, you usually hear about folks moving to the suburbs for nicer neighborhoods, parking and schools, not moving downtown to be in the thick of the action.

It's funny that "moved to Atlanta" is a bullet point, like a man is marked for life for daring to live in a famously black gay city, but I can imagine a certain type of woman hanging with her catty girlfriends, telling them that a prospective mate used to live in Atlanta and they give each other a look that says, "Girl, you know what they say about them." For some reason, I don't think San Francisco would elicit that reaction, maybe because of different standards or because it's not typically associated with black gay men. And men would have just as much, if not more, opportunity to wade in gay waters in big metro areas like LA and NYC but they lack that stigma.

 

Atlanta is has been known as a black mecca since at least the 1990s and by extension it's a black gay mecca since there are so many black people. San Francisco on the other hand has been known to be a white gay mecca since 1970s it's not really associated with blackness like say, Oakland. Also black people are fleeing the SF Bay area(and California in general) in droves as property values and rents skyrocket now that's it's become a destination for tech industry types with high salaries. Gentrification is a real bitch. Also well to do whites make it known once they move in they want you out. LA and NY have large populations who go there for various reasons so they're not as readily associated with gayness but of course with any big population you're gonna have a sizeable amount of gay people especially in cities like NY and LA which are cultural centers and are important to the creative industries many gay people tend to work in because face it many of us are talented. At least that's the stereotype anyway.

 

I'm an avid eye roller...gives me away every time. Its usually accompanied by a deep sigh

 

The "fashion forward" is probably what gives me away. I'm not afraid to wear a poncho or a cape (I think I own like 3 of them) nor am I afraid to throw on a scarf....but all of this is during the winter.

The only other thing I can think of is that I colour my hair. Right now, it's different shades of blonde and that's usually something that you don't see on Black men.

 

Ah...now, I agree with this one. I am exactly the same way and I think one of my friends clocked me already because there is no way in hell I won't roll my eyes or sigh when Donald Trump opens his mouth.

 

I suck at these type of things. But when I use to find someone attractive I would stalk a facebook page and look for things but I hate doing that nowadays. Sometimes I can spot some guys in public transportation that you wouldn't even think were gay just checking other guys out, that happens a lot.

 

Bruthas with dyed hair are definitely suspect. Especially dyed blonde. I've always thought that was big red flag.

 

I have seen several guys with the blonde feaux hawk going on. Some even have it done like a gradient.

 

I'm not certain if this was mentioned already but another thing about myself I just thought of is being soft-spoken. I sometimes get asked to repeat myself sometimes (comes from shyness/meekness)...I've heard people say that's a sign.

 

Hmmm.... lemi think..... generally i work off of vibe (energy) . But otherwise there are subtle mannerisms that I use to guage gayness.

1. the look is in their eyes. - just watch their eyes man, if a dude is down low, he knows how to cop a look on an unsuspecting prey. just follow their eye movements, they just might be looking at you. happened to me at the supermarket whilst hanging out with my sisters, random dude they were interested in walks by. They begin their stalking process, and after several passes in multiple aisle, I tell them don't bother wasting their time. The dude is gay, he has been looking at me every time we passed him lol. They sigh because the next time they caught the look.

2. Their friends on facebook/ interests... If they have allot of muscular dude friends or even better gay friends .... yup they are gay

3. Their walk, That dude has a walk conscious or subconsciously the attracts dudes..... like damnnnn that dude knows what he is doing.

4. They smile at other dudes allot....... for random reasons, as many times as they can cop. ....... Like pleasee :]]]]]] get the hint.

5. They use their hands to dramatize a point ... or even more subtly when they think they are not being watched and their gay guard is down, their hands contort into some free (gay ) motions that you just laugh and say yup.

6. They have an unusual piercing

7.they are unusually touchy with you, especially at the gym.........

8. Finally ... if you are a dude and I dont know you personally, and you add me on facebook. .... like 3...2....1.. insta dm. or one bag of likes on my pics .......

 

So basically EVERYTHING? lol Guys...

I was listening to podcast 25 and thought about this thread when you discussed survey results showing that most users say they've never shared Cypher Avenue content on social media. Sharing LGBT content will make you suspect unless you have somehow established that you deeply care about civil rights for all people even when you aren't personally part of that group. Even so, people will speculate about your reasons for sharing and consider the possibility that you are gay.

I'm not surprised people don't share since many here seem to be somewhat discreet about their personal lives. Even those who are somewhat out may not be to all of their contacts or feel that many of them lack interest in the content. Some straight people are somewhat accepting but don't really seek insight into the particulars of gay life. And social media discussions about even seemingly benign topics often become shyt shows. They can be entertaining (or disturbing) to read but i generally don't participate in very heated ones.

I doubt I will ever share because I never post anything on social media unless I'm relatively anonymous. I get updates about others (and reminders of people's birthdays) but don't really put my business out there. At best, I may direct message someone a link.

Since then, have you heard or noticed anyone mention the site on social media? Do you feel the situation has changed at all?

Dudes with unsual piercings....nipples, penis, tongue, pierced etc. are suspect

Dudes who engage in reckless eyeballing of other dudes are suspect. Great places to catch this is the gym, locker rooms, stores, shopping malls....etc. note in trying to clock others you may be clocked as well.

If a dude locks eyes with you for more than a second and doesn't look away....he's suspect.
