I think that it's best to let people label themselves. Let them identity as whatever they want to be. If a man has sex with women and wants to identify as gay, then that is their choice. If a man has had sex with another man but wants to identify as straight, then let him. We can't make those kind of choices for other people. Truthfully, I don't really care to either.

 

Gold Star Gay. I've always, and still do find women attractive. Growing up, I've always fantasized about having a wife and 2 kids. I dated my first GF when I was a freshman(02-03) in HS. She wanted to have sex, but I was not ready at that particular set and time. It could have been a dude, and I still would have felt the same way. All for nothing but a week later she broke up with me. At that time I have heavily in school work, and any form of music/band had my full attention,so my mind was galaxies away from the thought of having sex let alone with a guy. It wasnt till my junior in HS when I found myself in my 2nd relationship. This time it was a dude, but even after a year I still was not ready for sex. I still had those childhood fantasies lingering around that may have played a part, or simply because I wasn't comfortable who I really was- Gold Star Gay lmao. I have a habit of feeling that I have to explain more than I should than give a simple answer. Lol forgive my lengthy post.

 

I agree. Our brains are wired to stereotype, make snap judgments and put things in the simplest terms to understand, but that's also something you can train yourself not to be conditioned to. I do agree that sometimes labels are necessary and came cut down on some confusion. So most times if I don't feel like getting into a whole discussion I'll just say things like "I'm gay" or "I'm a top" to cut down confusion. Especially if the convo or person isn't worth in-depth analysis lol

 

I'm not a Gold Star Gay I guess...I love tittays too much...so much so that I don't even like dudes with hard plump chiseled chests. Hard muscle bodies in general are a turnoff to me unless its just because the dude is super slim and can't hold on to the cushion. But I'm already way off-topic so I digress...

 

Yeah I guess count me as a gold star gay. I can appreciate a beautiful woman but I've just never had the desire to have sex with them. I think that term sounds kind of corny though. Who gives a fuck really. If your gay, it doesn't make you any more or less gay if you've been with a woman.

 

"Gold Star" basically means that you've never had sexual intercourse with a female. Some gays think this makes them 'better' than gay men who have had sex with women before or bisexual men.

I don't care. I don't think anyone outside of gays care about this, if they care at all. In light of things where men who have sex with men, even once, get labeled as 'gay' by many in the heterosexual world, this is just a non scientific way to see demographics on this site. To me, it doesn't matter because we all can experience some form of discrimination and we all also make our own paths to accepting ourselves for who we are and moving forward with our lives.

 

Really, I've never heard "gold star gay." In my experience, particularly with masculine gay men they seem to think they're better than gays who've never had sex with female. Bisexual dudes in my experience tend to look down their nose at gay men. That said I got a blow job from a girl when I was 18. But I only did it because back then I felt like I had something to prove. Wasn't really into it. Haven't been with a female sexually since then. I'm 41 now. Women just don't do it for me. That's something I've known ever since I was but, it took me to my mid 20s to come to terms with that.

 

Being apart of a Frat in college, it's a prerequisite to "f*ck dem hoes".... LOL (not trying to disrespect women, just using the ignorant terminology used in college).

So I did, and to be honest, it was hot as hell. Sex in general is hot to me. It can be great with a woman and amazing with a man. No sex trumps the other in a hot hook up. IMO. What it boils down to for me is not only whom you have great sex with, but who would you like to be with. I can still to this day get it up for a woman and f*ck the sh!t outta her. I dont. But I wouldnt have no trouble doing it. I like sex.

I always knew I was gay, so I like to say "I experimented in college". I my experimenting was Hetero-sexually. But once I started having sex with men, I stopped with women. Too much drama and not fair to either person IMO.

But yeah, I guess No Gold star here. (wipes tears then makes a sandmawich)

 

How can you put a label on someone else? It's not your right. And who said that a gay man can't be sexually/physically attracted to females? We need to open out minds a bit here with our thinking and how things are defined.

 

But I'm not lying. I don't consider myself bisexual. I'm a gay man who still finds women attractive, and could potentially have sex with one, but I choose to be with men predominantly.

 

I wouldn't jump the gun and say that a man is "gay" because he slept with another man just like that wouldn't make me "straight" if I slept with a woman. I just think not having labels or being able to pigeon-hole people is terrifying to many.

 

I've been with my fair share of women (I was a bit promiscuous in HS)and I guess I identify as gay, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't have sex with a woman again. I'm a firm believer in the Kinsey Scale, so I see sexuality as more fluid than rigid. While I don't see myself being in a relationship with a woman at this point, my attraction to them has never gone away, but simply ebbs and flow, just like my attraction to men.

LOL your hubby and I are both gold-star gays. I don't look down on gays who've been involved with women at all. All a part of life experience. I just knew that I never had desire to be with a female. I went on dates with them but I ended up cutting ties myself. I made work and school my focuses and had a faithful relationship with porn.

 

No gold star for me. Shyt, Im 5 mins away from goin str8 again since yall gays dont know how to act right.
