#BlackLivesMatter Protesters Disrupt Students in Library: ‘F*ck You, You Filthy White F*cks!’

Ugh....fail to see how this sort of acting out advances black people.

 

So does that guy that you hate on all the time, DeRay Mckesson, associate with this movement? He doesn't appear to be nearly as unprofessional or militant or ignorant as the people associated with this movement. Which begs the question: Why you be hating on this dude so much? LOL He isn't doing anything worse than what every other black/gay activist does which is search for the cameras and get in front of them.

That shit was funny....but it should be pointed out that the majority of activist and protest that evening were peaceful and had nothing to do with this foolishness OR are all BLM folks the same to you?

 

So if he was a black gay activist who shunned the cameras and threw up his hands to block his face from every reporter, he would be o.k. in your book? My point is every activist needs press to get their views out and draw attention to their cause. I've never met or knew of an activist that didn't. DeRay is just a little more adept at getting the attention. *shrugs*

I'm not worried about what millennials think. This is the generation whose favorite male rappers wear dresses. I still stand by my position that yelling obscenities at people on a college campus isn't helpful to "advancing the race." Does such actions reign in the power of the police state? No. Does it generate economic power in the black community? No. Therefore such activities are at best unproductive and at worst counterproductive.

 

A couple of points, protest no longer works. The white power structure that runs this country has learned that all they have to do is ignore protesters. When they get too disruptive they send their henchmen.....er um police to break it up.

I personally don't have problem with DeRay McKesson. I'm sure he thinks he's doing the right thing for black people. Now that he's come out. I'm sure his own people will start turning on him. It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out.

Nevertheless most black people including those in BLM have negative attitudes toward black gay men. I'm willing to bet $20 most black folks will be raking him over the coals.

 

Aren't these ivy league black "activists" kids supposed to be our future leaders and representatives? I mean, how are they going to be influencing policy making acting a fool like this?

 

As a Black Millennial I approve this message LOL sound about right! Most of these people are all talk, no substance.

But just like in any generation, it isn't the majority that rules it's the few. Not all millennialls think this way or approve of these kinds of tactics. I have friends that actually work tirelessly on movements like BLM and other political issues to spread awareness and create actual solutions to problems but when you have these popular opinions so readily available in media it's hard to stand out amongst the rabble.

Honestly though my generation's general response to the issues we face is disappointing, but in the end I know that we didn't develop all of these flawed ways of thinking from completely out of nowhere...our parents and the world we had shaped for us did that...I just hope in the future more people will make more of in effort to grow up and create real change!

 

People are just idiots...that's not helping anyone's cause. I would have been like those two white guys and just got up and left. Why the library of all places?

 

BLM has several different chapters. Furthermore, everyone saying BlackLivesMatter isn't an official member of the group. Obviously, they did Black people no justice by cursing White folks out on camera, but other chapters have proven very successful. For instance, the movements and protests at some universities have resulted in them actually changing long held policies--policies that were institutionally racist. I'm just rather bothered that everyone jumped on the bandwagon to talk shit about the movement.
