I had to stop watching it. They were dump like they never took a history class. Like damn did u forget BLACK people were brought to the caribbean and Latin America also. DJ Envy went to Hampton acting like he never learned of the African Diaspora. :nopekid:

I don't think that Envy and Charla knew what they were doing intentionally. I will say that Amara La Negra made things very clear and continued to speak about her perspective coming from the Latin Market into the American Market. Yee understood right away and obviously did her own research. Charla and Envy kept viewing the issue from the perspective of the American market and not the struggles that Amara expressed about her personal experiences in the Latin market. That was were the disconnect was.

Then you had Cardi B's sister, Hennessy, come in the picture and say that Cardi is not popular because of her having lighter skin alone. Again, Hennessy just like Envy and Charla were viewing things from the perspective of the American market and entertainers getting their big breaks there as opposed to how Amara reiterated about the experiences in the Latin market.

Charlemagne pretty much feels that being there are dark skinned women that are successful, there shouldn't be a dark skinned woman saying she can't be successful, simply bc of being dark skinned. He truly couldn't absorb anything she was trying to say at all.

And unless the conversation is about money, cars, and materialism, Envy is dead clueless, so there is no surprise on his end. Hampton was a vacation for him.

As for Cardi's sister, she was defensive and not fully wrong; however, she wasn't near being able to comprehend what Amara was saying and her reasons why.

It can be looked at as a wasted interview. The lack of reception just by Envy and CTG confirmed that.
