Yall do know he was born in Brooklyn right? Is he visiting the hood or revisiting the hood?

 

Ok. When I was young(starting in my junior and senior year in High School) I was an avowed socialist if not communist. I LOVED the fact that Burlington Vermont had a SOCIALIST! mayor-I thought it was the best thing ever. I don't have anything against him-I like him and ideally I like what he supports-but I just do not think he can make it work in this country right now at this time in this political climate. I think he will be chewed up and spit out by the powers that be. If he gets the nomination I will support him, but I don't think it is going to happen.

He may be on to starting something along the lines of bringing forth some greater change, but it is the beginning of the movement, there just is not enough 'there' there to make it work at this time IMO. I hope someone can pick up the torch and build on what he stands for though. And I am very glad he is running and bringing forth issues that would not be seeing as much 'light' as they are now.

If anything he is just too good for the majority of the country to get behind and too dangerous to the elites but also not strong enough and his movement is not strong enough and is too vulnerable to the elites. We are in turbulent times though so who knows what might happen?
