    Steven Moffat Promises “British Buffy” With Doctor Who Spinoff; Katherine Kelly Announced As Star
    I was a big Buffy the vampire slayer and Angel buff back in it's day.
    I'm willing to give this a shot when it reaches our shores next year.
    [​IMG]According to Entertainment Weekly, The Night Manager‘s Katherine Kelly will star in the upcoming Doctor Who spinoff, Class.

    Set at the Coal Hill School featured in a number of Doctor Who episodes over the years — and the setting of the very first scenes of the series in 1963 — Class will revolved around a group of students and teachers at the school as “something pressing in on the other side” threatens to tear through the thin temporal walls of the buildings.

    In a statement, executive producer Steven Moffat called the show “dark and sexy and right now,” adding, “I’ve always wondered if there could be a British Buffy — it’s taken the brilliant [A Monster Calls‘] Patrick Ness to figure out how to make it happen.”

    The series will air on BBC America next year.

    If it's related to Dr Who,it's already got a vote of confidence from me.After making Buffy comparison's though they better come with it,cuz even if it's good people are expecting something rather specific with claims like that.

    Americans keep ripping off British TV series like Being Human, Houses of Cards, the Office....etc. I guess they figured one good turn deserves another.

    That's a bold comparison. The biggest boon to Buffy was the fact that Whedon never forgot anything that happened on the show (and also the fact that all the monsters/horrors were metaphors for the various issues teenagers had growing up.) From random characters to little silly subplots, he was able to tie it all together in the end. It made the Buffyverse seem more vibrant and alive. Dr. Who, while I love it, has a tendency to forget or ignore cewrtain things because time travel. I'll give it a shake, though.

    UGH they did this whole character so wrong. She could've been so cool and interesting if they hadn't given her that AWFUL accent and actually gave her a real story line and not just introduce the concept of multiple slayers...I was so excited when I first saw her until she opened her mouth...:krs::scusthov:
