A man who survived nearly driving his car off a California cliff was struck by a passing tour bus moments later, authorities said.

A man who nearly drove off a California cliff was struck with a second round of bad luck when authorities say he escaped his vehicle only to be hit by a passing tour bus moments later.

The unidentified driver was winding along Malibu’s Malibu Canyon Road Saturday evening when he crashed through the guardrail, the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Stationreported.

A rattling photo shows his SUV hanging over the edge, with both back tires raised in the air.

After exiting the vehicle, authorities said, the driver became disoriented and walked into the path of an oncoming bus. They described him as conscious and breathing upon first responders’ arrival and said he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The sheriff’s station credited the road’s guardrail — which the driver completely smashed through — with likely slowing his vehicle and saving his life.

“Definitely a very fortunate driver to be saved by these barriers,” they posted on Facebook.

“This is another reminder of the need to drive safely through the canyons of our beautiful area and to use extreme caution at the scene of a traffic collision,” they wrote.
