When University of Massachusetts-Amherst economics professor Gerald Friedman analyzed Sanders’ economic proposals and projected they would dramatically increase GDP growth by as much as 5.3 percent, the New York Times issued a searing report citing “left-leaning economists” that shredded Friedman’s analysis.

One of the economists cited, Austin Goolsbee, said Ezra Klein’s dismissal of the projections as “puppies and rainbows” had “evolved into magic flying puppies with winning Lotto tickets tied to their collars.” What the Times conveniently forgot to mention is that Goolsbee and the other “left-leaning economists” cited have deep ties to Wall Street and the Clintons, and that Friedman himself is a Hillary Clinton supporter. The International Business Times did their legwork and confirmed that Goolsbee is anything but impartial:

Goolsbee, who led the Council of Economic Advisers under President Barack Obama, is currently a partner at 32 Advisors — a corporate consulting firm run by Clinton supporter Robert Wolf, a former top executive at UBS, which was a Clinton foundation donor and which was aided by Clinton’s intervention in an international tax dispute.
