    It's culturally interesting that African-Americans absorbed many elements of popular African and Caribbean culture in the 60s, 70s, 80s (and before that in the arts and music) and they are absorbing our Southern church traditions. I remember asking a friend from Brixton in the 90s if Black ministers in England hooped and hollered like in the U.S. and he claimed they didn't. Now, I'm not so sure...

    That shit was more scary than funny! I'm old enough to remember seeing the first news reports of Jonestown on TV as a kid. My parents let me stay up late to watch SNL and I remember the first news reports coming in about 1 a.m. The opening of your linked video with all the people lying down was TOO FUCKING close to home!!!

    If you look at countries around the world, the more religious a country is the greater the level of poverty, corruption, and illiteracy with the one exception being the USA, which luckily has enlightenment principles as the foundation of its collective philosophy to beat back religion's regressive influence.
