I know folks have talked about immigrants and their opinions about them but I had recently been researching and was interested in learning more and talking about the immigrants that trek through the Darien Gap. A dense jungle that immigrants have to go through as they flee the vile conditions of their own countries. Many of them get paid no more than 10 cents an hour and lots of others have families to take care of some don't but they all are heading (attempting, I hear a lot don't make it) to a better life.

Anyways, these men enter into the Darien Gap with no idea what they are getting themselves into. They are men from poor areas of India, Africa, China and so forth traveling with plastic bags, eating only crackers and drinking river water for nourishment in the constant 90 degree weather....

The Darien Gap is a large swath of undeveloped swampland and forest within Panama's Darién Province in Central America and the northern portion of Colombia's Chocó Department in South America.

To be honest with you, I think only two types of men cross through Darien the desperate and the stupid.

There are lots of things in Darien that can kill you. Black scorpions, several venomous snakes (some lethal only giving you only 10 minutes to find anti venom before you start reacting), jaguars, aggressive wild pigs, mosquitoes, bot flies (which lay maggots under your skin), murderous drug smugglers, hostile natives, criminals and much more.

Seeing these beautiful men, young and old of different countries travel through the green hell for a better life always inspires me but ultimately hurts me in the end. Many of them are weak, hungry, suffering bad injuries, fevers, and much more just to get away from their own hell only to enter into an unknown green one.

What's even more messed up is that those who do make it through often get stopped and turned right back around because of the laws.

It might not be uncommon to be on a trail and see the decomposing body of a migrant who didn't make it.

I often began to wonder about these men. Hoping that they make it out even though I know some dont. Some of them want to be free from a harsh life. These are humans with dreams and goals and they travel thousands of miles to find a better life. Some want to be doctors, others want to go to college, and some just want to live in humane conditions, quite a few of them will never get to live that dream. Some of them will never make it out of Darien Gap and that bothers me. I'm often worried about these men.

Is this the harsh reality of the world we actually live in? A world that is said to be evolved and under the eye of a supreme and just God?

Not a religious banter but just something to throw out.

If you were like them...What if America was a third world country and you had a choice of staying here and living your life like they have to or would you take the trek into the unknown for a better life?

Didn't the Native Indians do this and discover America only to be ummm somewhat wiped out by ummm those "people" and given some casinos, free tuition and some camp grounds just to shut up bout it?

Also, I'm a huge crypto-nut and I do know that natives talk of strange creatures that frequent these jungles from blood sucking chupacabra to everything else like Bigfoot and beyond just waiting for some fresh meat. Honestly, who knows wtf is in there since it's mostly untouched. You're likely to find Jurassic World 3 up in dat bih.

Can you imagine how fracking terrifying it must be to travel at night through this???
