Surprised this hasn't been made into a thread yet.

Knowingly exposing others to HIV will no longer be a felony in California

IDC, IDC, California tried it. It definitely takes two to tango but some folks are very untrustworthy/have a lot to work through and it's not always readily apparent from the outside looking in...you should be held accountable for doing fcked up stuff...

I think the idea behind this law is to put HIV "punishment" in line w/ other STI punishments. In other words don't just single HIV when other STI don't get the same punishment.

I also think the aftermath of the Tiger Mandingo case had something to w/ this.

I think as STD's go, it should still be a class of it's own. HIV is a very serious infection that requires life-long treatment. The financial and emotional burden doesn't compare to other contracted other STD's, most of which are curable or very well manageable in the case of herpes or HPV. I can't understand the rationale.

I don't think its necessary right.
Just because ppl aint dying form it does not mean HIV is a walk in the park.

I think some ppl think that since the advancement in medicine and tech it not a death sentence as it once was its not that serious. Ppl see Magic Johnson still living and gaining weight.

@takeyourmeds91 I agree though, ppl dont realize how much resources it takes to live with it. Medicine and treatment aint cheap or easy to go through.

But @takeyourmeds91 u being a medical professional, what do you think the law should be when someone knowingly tries to give ppl a STI including HIV?

I think it should definitely be a felony for trying to give someone an STI because you're fucking with someone else's health, especially HIV.
