I won't give two shits about who exactly is paying the *mortgage*. We can just split the bills based on what's the closest to equal or what makes sense on income per person. If your pride is that fragile, I don't want you because that means you're likely averse to compromise.

Why wouldn't the bottom pay rent. He is a man isn't he? A man is supposed to earn his keep, straight, gay, bi, top, vers, or bottom. Hell even heterosexual women in relationships with men gotta fork over rent money or mortgage money. This muthafucka is full of shit.

 

1st I wish people would stop using top/bottom as nouns instead of verbs. They don't describe ur whole entire personhood. What u do in the bedroom has nothing to do with how u manage your personal finances (unless u escort haah lol).

The heteronormative stuff is for the birds. With all the advancement in gay rights I dont get why some gay dudes still want to adopt them; just to be treated like victorian age women.

It's pre-1970s heteronormative. Many if not most women work and split household bills partly out of a cultural shift but also out of necessity the days when a man's salary was enough to support a family are dead and buried and have been for decades. That makes it doubly odd that a gay man would adopt this line of thinking in 2018.

this mortgage idea is obviously an extreme example. unless one person agrees to being a stay at home parent, there is generally no reason in today's america for anyone not to contribute to bills in a marriage or other relationship with co-habitation. but if two ppl think that works for them, it's all fine with me.

that said, some of yall like to get online and act mighty progressive around sex and gender, but in reality most of us, including myself, are invested to varying degrees in some form of heteronormativity. the top-bttm construct, for example, is expressly heteronormative in mimicking the gender/power dynamics of straight couples. similary, fem and masc in popular usage also tend to be heteronormative descriptors. so we should not pretend to be beyond heteronormative norms and behaviors when it's convenient to our positions (no pun).

 

I mean if that's what he wants who am I to complain..I mean I like to pay my bills in advance sometimes if I can. I don't need no man to pay for anything but if he is making money and insists...I'm not going to give him a sharing means caring speech. Just long as he knows how to manage his finances.
