PDA: For or Against?

Against...even for the Heteros.

 

I think small acts of PDA is ok. I personally only engage in PDA in very specific environmental circumstances. I most definitely have to feel comfortable with my surroundings.

As a general rule, however, I tend to avoid PDA but do subtle things like speaking in code words .

I do think some people take PDA too damn far, though. Who sits on the same side of the booth? Or walk interlocked together down the street? Shit makes no sense to me.

 

Depends on the environment.

 

I think hand holding is fine in fact it should be something you do with out having to think about it But full out grouping or kissing is kinda gross

 

A few years ago early on a beautifully sunny Sunday morning I pulled up to the grocery store and as I got out of the car two young men walked by me holding hands. They said good morning - it was that type of morning - and I replied. I thought to myself that it was a perfect moment, something that was normal and wonderful at the same time, something that I would not have had the courage to have done when I was their age forty some odd years ago. I realize it was Washington, a cosmopolitan city (sometimes). A lot of battles lie ahead on all fronts, but i am happy to take a little pleasure in seeing people unafraid to be themselves.

 

Small gestures I think is totally fine. I feel when people OD on the PDA like tongue down the throat for what seems like hours in front of everyone or sitting on laps with hands in each others private parts is just too much. (living in NYC you have seen it all)

But hand holding is totally find to me. (i personally find hand holding corny and juvenile, but to each is own)

Also, a small kiss is absolutely acceptable to me. If I was leaving for a flight and my partner helped me with my bags to the counter and just turned and left, I would think "Dude Really"? LOL. A quick kiss and have a safe flight would be definitely expected to me.

 

I think everything is good in moderation. I don't mind holding hands, walking around with you in my arms kissing you here and there but im not going to damn near fuck you in the town square on some shit! lol... No seriously I believe most same gender loving folk shy away from PDA because of the attention it may bring or the reactions it may cause from others. I think also some believe theres something wrong with that kind of intimacy. My dad told me something when I was growing up and was shamed into not dealing with Dragon Ball Z anymore he said "If you allow people to make you feel ashamed for something you are doing you need to 1. Examine What You Are Doing. or 2. Say fuck people and do you." I elect to say fuck people!

 

I am down for small displays but I don't like being out and seeing two people (gay or str8) who obviously just need to get a hotel room.

Eh I don't care, straight folks go overboard with their shit and nobody says anything so let the gays hold hands at least. I've never seen gay men do more than that in public.

I personally wouldn't do it unless we were in a certain environment.

Nothing wrong with it in moderation. Hand holding, kisses(pecking not making out). etc. Is ok in public. It depends on the environment of course. What is permissible in Church is not what is permissible at the local gay hookup bar and all.
