Ugh, there is nothing new here. Same tired "reality" show format that's been around since the 1990s. Nothing new on the gay front either. Same bitchy, backstabbing drama, and trading of petty insults. A bunch sissy queens with delusions of grandeur trying to follow the Kim Kardashian route to gaylebrity status who attempting to be music stars, models, actors, etc. but are really just attention whores. I'd actually be shocked if they showed a reality show with gay guys who are just regular guys, with regular jobs, with regular problems.

 

This could be on LOGO - not to say that LOGO is any good or this show is any good - but I could see it on LOGO.

OMG....ok so...this was my first time hearing about this series so I gave it a go and boy...give me a minute to decompress...lol

In the beginning of I wasn't feeling the shotty effects and IG filters and I literally didn't recognize a single person on the show but towards the end it got alittle entertaining lol, but a good 75% of it was BS! What was Johnnie's major malfunction?! He was trying everyone at the table! I died when he was like "I'm from Ohio!!" LOL!!! Nobody is scared of you!!! And then when he was like I got a 4.0 and Allen was like and yet you go to GA State? Haha wait a minute ....I almost went to GA State..

Lol! I kinda liked Brodney, he seems sweet even though his ties with Bam are somewhat questionable...and Josh is actually cute but I definitely can see Brod's concerns with his profession?

 

Did I get alittle carried away? Lol, Sorry I usually avoid reality tv but every once in awhile I get sucked into the drama! And it's interesting to see where you live portrayed differently (even if it's not exactly how I would like it to be portrayed)

All this drama is probably so played and worn out to y'all but I swear seeing Atlanta as this big Gay Black Mecca and Y'allyhood and gaylebrities is strange. People are like yeah in ATLANTA you gotta watch your back girl and this and that, I feel like I've been living under a rock lol! I ride Marta a lot and see some crazy things from time to time but it's interesting how you can grow up around a city your whole life and never really know it properly.

 

My was directed at the show, not you / your opinion. To each is own. No problem with that.

 

It's ok I guess. I'm not going to be running to YouTube just to catch the latest episodes. It still has a little to much drama and shade being thrown around. To each it's own.

 

I think the *best* thing about this show is that these guys are at least trying to be entrepreneurs which is good. I'm not going to knock people making their own money. But... yep. that's all I'mma say.

Johnnie is the "skinny bitch" this type of gay guy was discussed on a previous post on CA. What I found amusing is Bam and Mustang, the porn stars....er um, adult film performers were the manliest ones at the table. This is what passes for entertainment these days. Jeez.

 

Yeah honestly he would've probably been more interesting to follow than johnnie..or some of the other ones

Does it really have to be like the Real Housewives franchise?? I felt like the drama, "kiki"-ing and throwing shade was definitely made to mirror RH. I just wish they were original for a chance.

 

Two things.

1. That Allen character represents the type of people I try to avoid in Atlanta.

2. They were so busy talking about the pornstars and yet Bam seemed like the most down to earth.

 

I need gay men to know..it's ok to not have a reality show. It really is.

 

I think they are really trying to make an all lgbt reality show mainstream. The only ones I know off of the top of my head are on Logo. Honestly, I don't know if that will work any time soon. People seem to be okay watching women being catty with each other, but I don't think they want to see men do the same.

 

To be honest, there's clearly a reason why there's no show focusing on a bunch of straight men and their internal crew drama. There's none usually.

Maybe the Love and Hip Hop franchise but men usually resolve their issues and keep it moving unless they are arguing over some snatch or money. And women are involved in that franchise anyway. All of these shows target primarily women. Are there any straight men you know who follow any mostly female reality show if not watching it because their girlfriend watches it? I do know straight dudes who watched Bad Girls Club tho.

All of these real house wives style gay shows just feel the same. They all cast the semi masculine muscular one, the Queen, the less than masculine one, the old grand one, the new one, the hoe of the group, and the big ego one who should not have a big ego.

 

Nobody would watch. The average "Stereotypical {Millennial} Gay" don't wanna see themselves on TV, they wanna see what they WANT themselves to become, hence, the fabulosity and grandeur fit for the Bitchiest of Queens. LOL

I would watch a show like this if it was based off some type of actual talent, but watching people just exist doesn't cut it for me.
