Question About CypherAve Posts

It depends on the topic. I will take the time to sit and read a post on an interesting topic. But I notice that I'll usually read the long ones at the end of the day when I have time and short ones during the day when I'm at work. Unfortunately the nature of the internet has conditioned us, myself included to have shorter attention spans. I find myself actually having to make the effort to read something longer to improve my attention and focus.

 

I second this! I usually save all those New York Times/Atlantic long editorials on a read-it-later app and then read them at 10-11pm as I am winding down.

I think long posts are great like bi-weekly or once month, when they are very well researched and written, which is usually the case for Cypher Ave authors.

 

Depends on the topic for me regarding other sites...I usually like longer atypical posts that touch on topics from a different POV...Especially if they are filled with wit, sarcasm and new information that I wasn't aware of...

I recently read a series of articles on a Right-wing site that examined/contrasted how successful or unsuccessful a Zombie Apocalypse would be if it really happened. Featured input from real cops and military soldiers and everything. Was very informative and fun to do a serious thought-experiment on a fantastical scenario. It was a long read but like I said stuff like that from a different perspective is always fun.

I also like the longer Buzzfeed and Vice Magazine articles...I used to read the long Wired Magazine tech articles a lot too...I also love those "oral history" articles about a classic album or movie or TV show...

 

Agreed. You can usually tell the amount of time and effort that goes into writing a long editorial or research-heavy blog.

Fortunately, there is always that one nice person that cracks the code on how to do it effectively. I searched on my read-it-later app(getpocket.com) and found this How to write research-based posts which just might double your traffic long post, but worth the read imho.
I remember that I've always wanted to start blogging but never came around to it. Oh well but at least, I did the research on how to do it really well.

 

There's really no one size fits all type of thing that'd apply here.Having all the needed details included is preferrable to having a bunch of replies asking you to elaborate.I'd say y'all have been doing good in this department.

 

Maybe, I am the minority but I like the long posts. Especially, if it's a topic I am interested in. I have read all of the written posts on here that I have come across so far. You guys bring a whole nother perspective on a variety of topics besides "gay issues".

 

I admittedly have a short attention span so unless it's a topic I find very interesting I tend to scan.
