Not long ago, we gave you some sexting secrets from our good friend Cj Franco, a model who knows a thing or two about the practice. Unfortunately, what Cj didn't tell us about texting (guys) was something simple, yet guys and gals continue to forget about it. What is it? Desperation.

That's right, when it feels as if (or is as if) someone is ghosting you, have some pride and move on with your life. There are plenty of fish in the sea, gents, and chasing someone who clearly isn't into you — even if there was former communication and flirting — just comes across as sad. Doesn't sound like you? You're lying, 'cause, after talking with buddies about this exact thing, it's clear that men need to take their manhood back and remember that not every guy is interested.

But, since we continue to make the mistake, I'm here to go through a few simple steps to eliminate this embarrassing (and pathetic) practice. When texting (guys), there's a right and a wrong way, and, if you fail to play the game and know what you're doing, you're doomed.

Keep on reading to see exactly what you can do to help your dating game succeed — while maintaining a sense of pride in the process. After all, texting (guys) shouldn't be the thing that ruins your chances with them, so put yourself in position for it not to.

    Don't Copy/Paste
Nothing screams desperation more than copy/pasting the exact same message while texting (guys). It's obvious as hell, screaming for nothing more than attention, while hoping that the guy is one of those who needs the same thing. For those (guys) who can see right through the, "So, how have you been?" message, be prepared for no reply, as your lack of creativity will only push him away.

    Know When To Stop
OK, so now that it's been a few texts and you haven't gotten a reply back, it's not the time to push the limit and keep trying. Be honest with yourself and ask yourself a very simple question: Who on earth ever goes even a few hours without their phone by them? Chances are high that he's seen all of your texts by now, and is choosing to ignore you. Take a hint and avoid that creepy guy label by deleting any of the messages to that point.

    Keep Your Cool
Even if things got off to a hot and heavy start — which may have even included a few dirty pics — it doesn't mean you get to be a total jackass and lay into the man you've been texting. Remember that last part of the previous point about "deleting any of the messages to that point?" Yeah, save yourself any temptation of sending him more messages by doing that once you realize this guy's uninterested. It's not the time to get drunk, feel lonely and start firing off a bunch of inappropriate texts. After all, it's not his fault, he just wasn't feeling you.

    Have Some Pride
It's way too common to hear my buddies say they're texting (guys) whom they used to have a fling with. Whether that means an ex-boyfriend, friend with benefits or just a guy who they messaged a few times from dating apps, when does a sense of pride come into play? I'm a big believer of the "f-ck yes or f-ck no" theory. In other words, if he's texting you, being flirty and showing interest, and you, generally, feel the same, go for it. But, if he went silent on you after a few texts, it's time to cut bait and save yourself from being the guy he makes fun of to her friends.

    It's complicated
I'll be honest. It's hard to get to know someone via texting because EVERY dude follows these rules to the T. How many times has someone advised me not to text back to quick because that signified desperation; that I'm sitting by the phone waiting for his text with bated breath. Replying to fast means I have no social life and I'm not out doing other fun things. Who came up with that fucking rule? Why can't I text back fast if I just so happen to get the text while the phone is in my hand? Dudes play that "make him wait 15-30 minutes" game too much. The downside is I know you're playing it because you just told me you were sitting on the sofa doing nothing. So why is it taking you 20 minutes to respond to my text? Nah, I'll pass.

Exactly this! Not gonna lie I used to be really impatient and angry when it came to texting to the point of being annoying. Thankfully I've grown outta that and jus learned to be easy. I'm over trying to fathom the 10 million different reasons why I'm not getting a prompt reply it's a waste of energy. Let's face it most dudes (especially millennials) stay glued to their phones so if u think they are ignoring u, ur most likely right. The waiting game is stupid af and I dont follow that rule. If u text me and my phone is in my hand and I'm not busy I'll reply back in kind. My ego doesn't need the stroke of making someone wait. Lames do dat.
