These Dapper Gents - Gay Married

I really like this idea. If I ever got married I would prob do something like this. Elopement style though, just me and my partner, the wedding officiant, photo/media ppl and a maybe few really close friends that's it. I like dueds blue tuex; I would wear a neck tie though never really been a bow-tie person

Bow ties look so corny to me most of the time on dudes. In this case tho, it looks pretty hot. The more formal the event, a bow tie could be a yes. But the cummerbund? Definitely not. I thought cummerbunds went out of style like the ruffled tuxedo shirt. A vest and bow tie would look better than a bow tie and cummerbund, IMO.

But dammit if these brothers don't look good none the less. Men always look good suited to me. And Black men in tuxedos? YES AND YES

Because I can't turn my brain off...when I first saw this (on the actual website it was originally posted)...Being honest, who did you think the two grooms were? Like look at the first 5 pics.

When I saw the two actual grooms I was slightly confused because I thought the taller darker skin guy and the light skin guy with the beard were actually the grooms, especially with the pic with his hand on the others knee.

Because of the below pics, I thought these were the two grooms because they were the first pics on the original website.


Notice the hand on the other's knee...

Keep in mind there are more pics but those of the two men (the actual grooms) don't come until towards the end of the photo spread, so I was confused.

As soon as Roby stepped into The Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City’s Diplomat Room, he knew he wanted to put together a Harlem Renaissance-themed styled shoot. His love of the era in general and the design of the room motivated him to start planning. He brought in photographer Jerris Madison Imagery to shoot his modern interpretation of the Harlem Renaissance, complete with dapper tuxes, vintage decor pieces, and a glittery, glamorous tablescape.











The shoot features a pair of grooms getting ready for their wedding with their groomsmen, followed by a reception and toast. “Once I decided on actually putting the shoot into motion, I wanted to focus on men to give their wedding experience more visibility,” says Roby.













To pull of the Harlem Renaissance inspiration, Roby sourced some special props. “We pulled various vintage pieces into the shoot such as a brass fan, a phonograph, an old Kodak camera, and even the Cotton Club style font on the menu and place cards,” he says. “With a blend of whiskey, cigars, and style, I believe our models pulled off this modern version of Harlem Renaissance.”

FYI everyone, this is not an actual real wedding lol. Its a photo-shoot for an wedding planner. Everyone in the pics are models. Wedding planners do these to give ppl (future customers) ideas and show what they can do for their wedding and for advertising, publicity and marketing. Yeah you mostly see it wedding planers do photo-shoots geared more so for straight people. You don't really see Masculine Gay BLACK Men wedding photo shoots and MASCULINE themed weddings lol. Weddings are usually thought to be feminine and only planned for brides. Its great to see wedding ideas geared toward someone like me. I especially like the pics when they was eating the cake; looks like cheesecake lol

 

I knew Id seen salt n pepper beard before.

 

Oh and the brown skin "groom" (model lol) with the mini afro and beard though. Underneath that tuex is a thickeim-ness lol

Just haven't made any official plans. Contrary to popular beliefs...not all gay dudes are pressed to marry or have a gay hetero-normative wedding for instagram and facebook likes. We good...justice of the peace will see us soon.

 

I get it. I don't cosign ppl spending thousands for pomp when they can carry their azzes down to the justice for a few dollars, n then have a bbq.

N if yall happen to do pomp, I better be a groomsman, n Im singin at the wedding!

But yea, my point was def abt the rights n laws that accompany. My fam would never try to play my dude if something happened, but Ive heard too many stories of it happening. So, I just hope couples who think that's even a remote possibility use their rights.
