LOL Hmmpfff. Who knew Skeletor had a "jump off" apart from Evilynn LMAO These "back stories" would make some interesting fuel for a possible "Masters of the Universe" movie. Lord knows somebody still needs to make up for that Shit Show they made in the 80's (which my dad took me to the theater to see LMAO)

You are funny with that G.E.M. (Did you mean Jem? Like Jem and the Holograms?) I watched that religiously too...Jem could sing her ass off. I see you remember the Silverhawks, but you were a true cartoon head if you remembered Tigersharks (the aquatic version of Thundercats and Silverhawks).

Yeah, I don't know why the hell I "acronymed" it LOL I honestly didn't catch it very often, I think it was either on madd early when I was just wakin up, or on at the same time (different channel) as M.A.S.K. or Centurions. I was really only obsessed with the Misfits and when Jem would change into the "Punk Rock Whore" LMAO.

LOL!! Damn, I must not have watched this as much as I thought I did. I don't remember whole videos/ songs. I just remember her sittin' in a classroom and grabbing her earring and saying "synergy" and she changed into Rock Whore. And I remember the Misfits were always f@#kin with her. I may need to take this one off my favs list, now. LOL!

As a kid I liked Scooby Doo, Bugs Bunny, Popeye, just the looney tunes stuff in general. My brothers would go out on Saturday mornings after these but I would usually stay and watch the Cosby Kids and sometimes wait for Soul Train(I think I recognized the gayness even as a child). I naively envied the cosby kids because they had junkyards and abandoned buildings and stuff all around to play in and explore lol. and it was so very different from my boring suburb

I think my favorite characters were Yosemite Sam, Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner, and the Tasmanian devil.

"Soul Train" came on at 12pm, and that was my queue that it was time to go outside and play LOL!

I was fascinated by it. It really was much better than American Bandstand. I still like to watch the old videos of it, and by todays standards, it would be seen as gay as hell. But the seventies was a very odd and strange era lol.

I would be up bright and early at 6 am to get ready for the cartoons on Saturday mornings. My parents stayed in bed and slept in late and it was just my brothers and I which made it even better. Big giant bowls of sugary cereal with extra sugar (never would have been allowed by mom)...sneaking into the snacks and stuff. Good times!

I love watching old "Soul Train" clips now, but back then, I hated it. I didn't have a great appreciation of music, back then. I was only concerned with my "He-Man" toys and playing outside. I was alone for the better part of the morning because my mom left for work at 7am, my grandmother got home from work around 9-ish, and my aunt usually had Cheer Leading Practice all morning, if she was there she was usually in her room practicing her moves. The last cartoon that came on before Soul Train was "Hulk Hogan & Friends" which I didn't too much care for, even tho I LOOOOOOVED wrestling. So that 30mins was my "prep time" to gather my toys to go outside with. I grew up in the 80's Soul Train era, which essentially was just as "gay" if not "gayer" than the 70's. LOL!!!!

I lost track of Soul Train in the 80's. I hated that they made them go down the line separately! I would skip it if it was a nice day out though and also go out and play and work on my 'village' that I had in the backyard. My good friend Eddie next door and I made villages for our matchbox cars. We made little houses and streets and even had little creeks and bridges and went around the neighborhood digging up moss in shady spots and placing it down as grass. lol. Of course being boys we would get bored and then a 'disaster' would have to happen and we would wash it all out with a flood( the hose) or (as secretly as possible) set things on fire. Then we would rebuild(the best part actually)

But if it was cold or the weather was bad, I stayed with the TV and followed my cartoon and Soul Train schedule. I was grown by the time all of the 'new' cartoon stuff came about. back then it was pretty much only the old stuff. A lot of this stuff people are posting is completely alien to me.

I honestly don't remember it ever being too cold or rainy for me to go outside (in the 80's) LOL I'm sure it was a many points, but maybe I just blocked those out in my mind. If I was stuck inside for whatever reason, I was either playing with my toys, looking through encyclopedias, drawing, or making fun of my aunt practicing her retarded looking cheer leader moves in the mirror (and subsequently being warned to "stop, before you turn out funny). I literally despised "Soul Train" so if I was stuck inside, it damn sure wasn't in the living room watchin' that shit. LOL A lot of the time I was playing alone outside (catching bugs, looking for snakes, and pretending that flowers were dead people and creating mock funerals. I was a macabre child. LOL), but I did have a pretty large circle of friends. We had this garbage can rack way int he backyard that was never used. Was like tiny monkey bars (in my mind). That thing ended being anything from a 'school bus" to "gymnastics bar" to a ship. LOL Damn man, the innocence of childhood. I'm glad I was able to experience those years, even if for only a short while. Some never get the chance.

Absolutely!!! I used think that the cartoon intro at the beginning was another cartoon though I would get excited. Once I knew it was Soul Train, I was like...I don't want to see this.

You mean Hulk Hogan's Rock N Wrestling? That is where I learned about some of the B-List Wrestlers of the WWF...I liked that show too. I thought that the ratio of "good" guys to "bad" guys was off tho.
