Hmmm…
Frank Ocean has chosen to be out of the spotlight. U know his whole thing is to be ‘low key edgy artist’? Part of his image. Anyway, he’s been dropping bits and that; internet went cray. He is coming out with a magazine and an album in July. It seems v gay friendly? He thinks grown up. Well he is living in London w his boyfriend, so I guess he has evolved more!
Album name: Boys Don’t Cry
Jason Collins-he won’t get the same attention he got when he came out but was he ever going to get it? He is now a professional gay advocate in sports. Nothing interesting or ground breaking IMO. Works for Yahoo Sports as an analyst.
Derrick mysteriously left that team and is shopping for a new team. Looks like he is going to some small Catholic basketball school, which means that there is no NBA place in the future.
Sam. Who knows? Canada is really, really keen for him to join; they’ve been very honest and open that they are aware he is exhausting EVERY NFL possibility; which I think is RUDE, but are still keen to see him grow. Apparently they are training now and as he missed the early pre-season training, ppl thought he would be there as that is the deadline but he is in LA doing Dancing With The Stars finale. He clearly doesn’t want to go to Canada.
The internet did go crazy but I failed to understand the appeal of Frank Ocean’s version of The Isley’s “At Your Best”. He sounded like he was singing in a middle school talent show. But hey, that doesn’t mean he isn’t a talent in other musical areas.
I agree. He IS overrated BUT as a black middle class person, I can’t help but root for him. I knooow.
Like I said, as big fan but not now…he IS growing…but yeah, time will tell. I do think he is very talented and I like he’s not so great mainstream voice.
I was just wandering about the podcast last week. I mean, I found some more podcasts to hold my attention in the meantime. It’s great to have y’all back to keep me entertained while I work.
I was thinking the same thing.
OMG…the commercial break though LMAO

Exactly! I was just getting home, ‘under the weather’, and it took me a minute to realize it was bullsh!t
Thanks @nick for expressing my idea a little more eloquently that I did in my drive-by post. I wasn’t stating something was wrong with the dude per se, however, if he’s actively looking to date, AND he’s the prototype of a “catch” within the gay community, what makes him resort to online dating instead of in-person dating. @ocky is being a little disingenuous when he pretends he doesn’t know what I mean when i say a dude is obviously attractive. He knows damn well that there is a “type”. Look at any poster for a black pride anywhere in the country and they guys all look the same: muscled, tatted etc. But some of these same guys are online looking for dates. What gives? If they’re soooooo selective, as ocky suggests, then maybe that’s why they are still single.
” alt=”” title=”” class=”bbcode-image” />
Wait. I thought we were cool. You even said you loved me in the podcast. LOL
I want to see @ocky do this soooo badly! lol
Well…I think “resort” is a hard word to use regarding online dating. There’s no shame in meeting ppl online to date in my book. Especially if its a legitimate dating site and not a hookup site.
I may represent a very small portion of ‘those guys’, but I’m old enough to say that I’m very attractive w/o being cocky, and I used to get that question all of the time. I’ve been on pay sites like match simply because as a 32 yr old who came out at 31, I don’t have the gay circle that a lot of guys have. Didnt work out, but I was legit in my intentions. Again, I realize my lane may be a lil different, but it’s a possibility.
@SB3000 what was the paid sites like? When I meet a loser dude who shows their booty/body online but complain about the lack of “good” men, I am like why don’t they go on a paid site?
What were the guys like? Better? What were the good things? and of course the bad things.
There were lots of older white men trying to bag (I don’t have race or age hang ups at all), but they were ‘over the hill’ and I wasn’t interested, and of course you had the ones who didnt have any interest in a blk guy. Then there were actually some guys who used the sites as ‘hookup’ sites, basically, trying to tap into a diff pool of guys. Basically, I had lots of opps for sugar daddies, but no connections.
Could be diff for the next man tho…I know and own the areas in which I’m picky.
Maybe, he doesn’t know how to actually date? As been stated, the majority of us don’t learn dating ‘rules’ while we are adolesecents, we ‘learn’ when we are usually out of our mama and daddy’s homes when we can do what we want when we want to instead of just sneaking in a touch or a feel in the bushes like straights usually do or being driven to the bowling alley and picked up in 2-3 hours.
Another thing, convience? Most people are not going to go out in public and get a graphic or detailed as people do on apps because of the ‘barrier’ of the internet. If some dude walked up to you and whipped out his dick or bent over and spread it like an eagle, you’d probably not be as receptive. But… put it online and it is a different story. Maybe unless someone was at a hook up spot then yeah, but a lot people won’t go to a hook up spot, park, or sex party for sex but would do so online where it’s just going to be the two of you instead of a whole room of people but that’s still more of an view of intent and desire instead of actual dating.
Being attractive doesn’t guarantee you a relationship any more than being a nice guy with a great personality who may not be as attractive. Looks are not everything because you can be fine as hell but still be boring or a jerk. You can be the nicest dude in the world but unfortunate looking and or have stank breff.
People are the sum of their parts so we can’t only focus on their attractiveness or lack of it as been the reason why they are single.
I get this Oprah face every time I read or hear that Michael Sam really wanted to be an NFL Player.
He has always seemed to desire celebrity over the sport in my humble opinion. Quite frankly, I think he should go that route…the famous for being famous route…he can run the reality show circuit, round up some endorsements and chill…shit if I would do it if I could.
I really wanted Sam to make it but his actions showed all of us, he had a different agenda.
” alt=”” title=”” class=”bbcode-image” />
I was rooting for him.
tyra-meme.gif
But seriously, it all went downhill when he reached Try Hard status but again… that man of his did him in making him come out because HE wanted to be recognized and not take a backseat.
So, while football is most likely done for him, he may as well just ride the reality pay checks for as long as he can, invest his monies and open up his own gym or football training facility.
O…so yall takin ratchet commercial breaks..i see yall
can I get a reference out here?!
real talk, when i had the apps i def had a shirtless pic, becus mofos are mofos, and i know wasup, but my entire profile was very clear that im a guy who’s in shape who is looking for mofos who were looking for more than hooks..me bein ‘in shape’ doesnt remove the reality of me bein a gay mofo who’s trying to date
I think I saw a documentary on the Discovery Channel about Mofos in the wild. It was very interesting.
Lol…see..this is why we don’t invite u to the ‘get togethers’
Will there be fried fish and fries at this cookout? Let me kno and I’ll bring the paper plates and mix up the kool-aid.
Dead.
Though I love seeing mofos in their nat’tral habitats.
Thats why I fux w u @nick
Ummm, what does this mean, lol. Specifics? What did I do/say?
So, you dont remember sayin “like sb3000 always says, and im shouting him out right now, gay men dont date’ or sumthin like that? Ok, I see u..
Matter of fact, can I renig on my shout since @nick left me on the side of the damn turnpike like he didnt know wtf I was or talking about?!
This is why I @hannibal…

Here we go!
I quit Cypher Ave..
Why?Huh?
Finally! Don’t ever do that again. 😉
With the superhero genre, you gotta pick and choose.I personally am ignoring all the Warner Bros/DC films but will be watching some of the DC tv shows and most movies from Marvel Studios.
Anne Rice’s vampire’s can’t have sex,so I think the absence of that factor makes them more open to bisexuality, but whatever.I’m with Ocky tho,I think I’d still want a dude by my side romantically.
In response to the whole gays on tv thing,I think a lot of times it’s just a matter of milking a current social topic for good drama. How do you create drama between a father and son,a guy and his friends,or make his dating life more “juicy” ? Make him gay. Especially with a black guy. Then of course there’s always the bottom line of getting more viewers and ratings.Having a gay character, even a poorly handled one will get gay guys to tune in.You don’t have to give a crap one way or the other on gay issues, but you’re still pandering to new gay viewers, and like I said, generating nice drama for anti-gay viewers.
Baltimore:
I do think that riots are just not effective. It just seems like all people do is loot and then nothing gets done afterwards. I get people are angry, but I think people need to get out and vote instead of only standing in lines for shoes and new phones.
LBGT Hip Hop:
Meh. I just have no appreciation for it. I’m sorry.
Folks Getting Hot at the Gym:
It seems to me that after a while, you’d be numb about seeing hot dudes at the gym. There’s hot guys everywhere. I can’t imagine going through life tenting up everytime I see a dude I find attractive. Sheesh.
Fine Single Mens:
I agree with all the points… It could be that they are ‘fine’ and just don’t want anyone, don’t get approached, have people who only want them for their looks and use them a throphies… so they don’t have to be an ass or have stank brefffff or have super high standards. It just is what it is. I too just assume that “the fine” are already attached so…
I also just don’t think that every man has their pick of the litter. I’ve been out on Atlanta a few times and every time, the same thing: dudes don’t approach me. So… maybe I have just not been around the right crowd. But I’m also not looking for anyone so there’s that too but…the attention would be nice I can’t lie.
The HIV “ONE OF US! ONE OF US!” Recruitment Team:
It’s a shame that people are like this. Again, every one is responsible for themselves but you have to use calculated risk appropriately. Don’t want HIV? Don’t do anything that’s high risk. Take pREP. Always use condoms. There are options. Though I do feel people who wantonly infect others should be punished, when it’s all said and done, it all goes back to each of us being the master of our on bodies. No one is making you take dick or give dick raw.
Straight Folks kill me acting like they are super holier than thou but will list all kinds of places they have fucked in on a Facebook meme. Miss me talmbout you are righteous but publicly admit to fucking in church.
Gay Black Men Who Fell Off:
Definitely agree that you need to establish yourself before coming out. I said it before and it was confirmed: Mike’s fiancé made him come out but he had no idea how black people are viewed in the country. He’s white, easiest difficulty level so he has no idea. Not saying that Mike would have made it otherwise, but coming out totally shifted what people focused on.
So he signed to Canada…..good for him! I bet the white gays…their prize- poodle was locked at the NFL-are P*SSED.
Glad you guys are back however you failed to discuss how Naruto is STILL on filler episodes and the cancellation of HBO’s Looking:)
