Admittedly, I’m not a big “fashion” dude. However when I see something I like, I really get into it. This happened recently in Atlanta when I saw an attractive young man wearing an unusual T-shirt that I thought was really dope. The shirt (featured below) had an image of a woman with the words “Mutant Baltimore” branded across the top and bottom. I quickly grabbed my smartphone and Googled the phrase to discover something fantastic. A small urban culture boutique store in Fells Point – Baltimore, Maryland called PedX (aka Pedestrian). Not only did they have the shirt I was looking for on their website (in limited supply), they had a wide array of shirts, sweats, fitteds, watches and accessories on display.
On top of that, I discovered that the PedX is a lot more than a random clothing store. Here’s release from their website:
PEDX Baltimore, also known as Pedestrian, is an anomaly. The venue brings limited edition, street sophistication and distinction via apparel, limited edition hats, fine art,
as well as a selection of precision art supplies. PEDX opened it’s doors in Fells Point
in April of 2008. The shop strives to appeal to the Other-Class amongst the world, with appreciation and focus on the real, rough rugged and raw. Contstantly building relationships with the newest and freshest around the world. Mishka, Diamond Supply Co, Rock Smith, Frank 151, Boundless NY, Reason, Actual Pain, DURKL , 10 DEEP, IN4MATION, THE HUNDREDS, Amongst Friends, PlayCloths, BlackScale, Krink, and Montana, are a few of the brands that contribute to keeping the shelves fresh at PEDX.
The art gallery side of PEDX is a daily operation as well. With a constantly evolving network of artists, the walls of the shop always feature new art. Many times the art is debuted at one of PEDX’s jump-off events and then transferred to the Fells Point location for display and sale.
In addition to a retail venue and art gallery, PEDX works within the community through organizing and promoting events throughout the Baltimore metropolitan area, and across the country. Events range from gallery openings, sweaty club nights, and into-the-next-day house parties.
This community outreach also includes hosting rap battles (aka Cyphers) in the store occasionally. Here’s a video from a battle hosted last year:
If you live in the DMV area (DC, Maryland, Virginia) I would definitely urge you to visit PedX and cop some dope exclusive gear for your aging wardrobe closet.

Nice. I hope to visit the next time I’m in THE DMV. One of my favorite areas to visit. But can I get a lil bit more info about them? I want to know, specifically, if they are friendly towards “us?”
I live in Baltimore, I am going to check it out. Not really my style..but who knows what I might find.
I can see my pockets just may get a little too thin if I stay in the style section of this website. This one post alone has my head wrapped around spending $500 on some new gear. For the past couple of years I have been working on changing my style and this store alone has a lot to offer to help the progression of my casual/social style. To coincide with @COSHAMO is this store friendly to “us”? If we don’t know how can we find out.
