Not 24 hours after I accepted the fact that Hip Hop hates me, it reminded me why I fell in love with it in the first place.

Removed from the upcoming album “Hall of Fame” for clearance reasons, Big Sean’s new 7-minute track “Control” featuring Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica was unleashed on Funkmaster Flex’s show yesterday and took over the Internet. The stand out verse did not come from Big Sean, however. It was Kendrick who stole the show murdering not only his track-mates but also just about every other rapper in the game right now.

But wait, there’s more: The Compton rapper also proclaimed himself to be the New King of New York.

“I’m Makaveli’s offspring // I’m the king of New York // King of the coasts // One hand, I juggle them both.”

My dudes.

Seriously.

Stop what you are doing and listen to this verse right now.

Kendrick comes in around the 2:55 mark:

“I heard barber shops be in great debates all the time //Who’s the best MC? Kendrick, Jigga and Nas? // Eminem, Andre 3000, the rest of y’all // New ni**as, just new ni**as, don’t get involved // And I ain’t rockin no more designer shit // White T’s and Nike Cortes, this is red Corvettes anonymous // I’m usually homeboys with the same ni**as I’m rhymin with // But this is hip hop and them ni**as should know what time it is // And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale // Pusha T, Meek Mill, ASAP Rocky, Drake //Big Sean, Jay Electron’, Tyler, Mac Miller // I got love for you all but I’m trying to murder you ni**as // Trying to make sure your core fans never heard of you ni**as // They don’t wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you ni**as // What is competition? I’m trying to raise the bar high // Who tryin’ to jump and get it? ”

Um, Yeah…

Kendrick Lamar is the truth.

Big Sean fans rejoice though. His sophomore album drops on August 27th, where you’ll get way more than 3 minutes of him.
