Fashion designer, wardrobe stylist and photographer Octavius Terry-Sims recently debuted his new work during the LA Visionary Project. We have previously mentioned Octavius in the context of the mass wedding he participated in with his partner Jamal Terry-Sims during the 2014 Grammys Awards. Many pieces presented in fashion shows are for visual entertainment value and showing off the skills of the designer. Octavius absolutely shows off his skills here.
With stylish bold patterns and prints with some Asian flare, a man definitely would need hella confidence to rock some of these pieces as everyday street attire. I do feel like the suit Octavius is wearing kinda reminds me of a Kehinde Wiley painting. I hope we can see a full men’s collection from Octavius in the future. Props to this talented brother!

I am about to email him now so I can rock some of these edgy clothes. I wish he did some African inspired stuff though.
Good stuff.
I just want the silver sneakers, the coat from the top middle picture short set, and the white 3/4 length shorts that look like they hug the calves.
The rest is too…much for me.
For some odd reason, Im feeling the “Houndstooth” pants, even tho I personally could never rock them and have them look like anything special. But they look good on the model.
You def have to have the ‘right’ build to pull these off. I know I don’t.
That’s why I’m only messing with the sneaks and the coat. I would have to see the white shorts from a different angle. I doubt I could do them any justice though.
I prolly look like Stay Puft in them.
I guess I am too conservative, because none of those fashions are appealing to me.
Look #6 is very me…sans the raiden hat
But it gives you the power of lightning and teleportation!
Go Oct!! Werk!!
I honestly think that we sometimes forget how powerful our opinions and fashion sense are. We (black gay men) can make anything the “norm” in society by just wearing it. I think that most of the pieces could be rocked by any of us and the world would not say “oh that shit is just gay”. There are plenty of things that heteros wear now that are so fucking gay, that it’s just undambelievable to me. I say rock the shit confidently and be the gay ass man you are. I also agree that African inspired patterns would be hellatiously nice to see and wear.
