fly lotus

I like what I like. I’m a critic because I’m a consumer. I’m no wordsmith eloquently scribing who you should or shouldn’t like. My caliber is untrained and a little rough for that. Getting to the point…I like this. I really like Flying Lotus. OMFG!

Yes I’m late to the game but still feel right on time. Different, creative anti-sounding-like-everything-else as my senses perked up and I paid attention. Men are visual creatures and the visuals absolutely got me but I also felt. I felt a soul emerging from jazz, techno, house, old school consciousness, mellow beats, bass, underground but still undeniably hip hop and yet so much more.

Missing is the status quo. I feel happy; pleased and intrigued from the familiar strangeness. This is real shit. Bringing back ideals of my youth when kaleidoscopes of smoke filled the air. Channeling happiness and appreciation for feeling that I’m understanding the music which makes me enjoy it more. It makes the spirit move to know that we are not all lost in a creative black hole. The hole still consumes but spits out quasars of light as if to say, “Here; I still bring gifts for all to enjoy.”

I absolutely enjoy it. If this is new to you, I hope you will binge watch-listen as I did? Or if you’re already aware, smile and be thankful that he has another one hooked. Thank you for your creativity and the directors who gave your music visual life to pull a newbie like me in. Fly Lotus Fly. Check out the videos below and share which one is your favorite.
