simply red

I tried to reach back and pull out some oldies but goodies, that some of the youngsters may not have heard previously or that some older heads simply forgot about. Hope you enjoy them.

This is the type of music I grew up on. I love “I Want to know what Love Is” chorus. “You Are My Starship” what, that’s the jam!!! Thanks for these!

How'd I miss this thread unti now?!?

Like @alton my default mode isn't slow jam, but I do have a couple of favs. By slow jam, I'm not including "tearjerkers" like Stevie Wonder's "Lately".

If you gotta be a one-hit album group, betta be a good one. I guess this would be my all time top one

Always like Ralph Tresvant. I think I might have a "type" after all like @Nick Delmacy lol; mine would be a skinny bottom that sings like this. Probably doesn't count as traditional slow jam per bpm but I've always thought of it that way

I always wondered what Paul MCartney could have done in "quiet storm genre" if he'd been produced by Babyface or Raphael Saadiq

Damn, I forget my favorite song as a kid was this slow jam! For a third grader to have this as a favorite song is kind of weird

I ain't gonna crash the thread with YouTube links so I'll just have to throw "Wishing on a Star" by Rose Royce, "Always and Forever" by Heatwave, and my all time smooch soundtrack. In my cinematic mind, I'm sitting in a convertible with the top down under a full moon about to get to second base with this playing:

Someone sent me this earlier today prior to an "intense" FaceTime session.

This is becoming my number 1 out of like my 500 other favorite Prince songs
