The first official full trailer for the sequel to possibly the greatest action film ever made has been unleashed and its a good one.
For those not in the know, 2011 saw the release of the Indonesian action film The Raid: Redemption about a team of SWAT police officers who must climb the levels of a slum housing project in order to apprehend a ruthless crime lord.
I had the pleasure of catching the film in the theaters and was wowed by the great directing and action choreography. The film instantly rose to join my Top 10 list of movies.
Now, 3 years later, the sequel is coming and it looks to be even more grand and epic in scope taking on what looks to be a Godfather feel mixed in with brutal masculine action and aggression.
YEP I WILL BE IN THE THEATERS! Given the awesomeness of the first film; I will take this adult action film over the PG13 XMEN, Spiderman and Transformer 4 any day.
I’m skeptical. The first one worked so well because it was simple and executed well. This one looks a bit convoluted but I’ll wait and see. I wish the first one would not have come out the same time as Dredd since they were so similar. It overshadowed Dredd unfairly in my opinion.

DREDD was cool but it couldnt hold water to the RAID in my opinion.
I think it’s about what you’re into. I liked them both but I’m more of a sci-fi guy and Dredd had the mix of action and sci-fi so I leaned towards it…although they literally had the exact same storyline.
Wow why haven’t I seen the first one? I’ve never heard of this film. I need to check it out so I can watch the sequel before it comes out. I can always watch a good action packed film.
A lot of people never heard of it because it’s foreign and wasn’t widely released in the US. I think the sequel might get a wider release. Also, there was some controversy because it has literally the same exact plot as DREDD which I think made the distributor less eager to widely distribute it.
Ohh I gotcha. I just saw that the movie is on netflix so I’m def gonna check it out over the weekend and see what I think. I’m getting excited to watch it now!

Well. I remember the trailer for the first one and didn’t get a chance to watch it. I will certainly DVD it real soon. I thought it looked like a simple story with the rigth amount of slash, boom, and wuaaataaaaah in it. lol. It is a must see for the 2nd one. Can’t wait.
