I was shocked to discover a 3 minute and 36 second video that encapsulates the struggle that Cypher Avenue has had to endure from the stereotypical effeminate gay public. The brilliant sketch comedy show Key & Peele of Comedy Central was able to visually bring to life through comedy the dynamic that exist between loud, attention seeking, flamboyant gay men and masculine gay men. When many gay men use the word “regular” i.e. “I’m looking for a regular guy” they are referring to the non-flamboyant man in this sketch played by Peele. It’s hard for the general gay mainstream public to understand, we are not internally homophobic, externally homophobic, or even effemiphobic we are just “phobic” of you.

Lol, yea they summed it up quite well.
Haha. I have met fools like this before. Little did they know I was on the same team.
This needs to be played on every screen in every gay bar/club in the world!
The last line says it all….
The penis shaped lollipop at the end just finished me. I wasn’t prepared.
OMFG!!!! this is the one! This is the Comedy sketch we needed! I hope a lot of straight people are able to take the lesson this sketch provides. This is part of the struggle for non flamboyant men….NOTICE I didn’t say “masculine” I said non flamboyant. Meaning fem dudes can be cool too without being a super gay jackass….
That was pretty hilarious! Wow I did not know what to expect! Good ish!
These two have always parodied the gay issue quite well.. I remember this one from back n the day.
I dedicate this video to every guy who’s tried to approach me on facebook or twitter
Watched this clip and it had me weak. Mad funny but it reminded me of me and a coworker. I definitely felt Peele’s characters pain.
I loved it and have been there myself.
OMG IIII LOOOVVEEE IT.. LOL
I love this. This teaches the difference between feminine and flamboyant
Not even flamboyant. Just plain out asshole… the scrotum cozies OD killed me tho.
What a great sketch and a great topic for discussion. Where do we find balance and respect amongst ourselves? I’ve been in similar situations throughout the years and never really dealt with it. I would basically walk away from flamers, but some could’ve made great friends if I had given them a chance.
funny as hell , sad n true for some.
My friends were looking like “what the hell is so funny”. Lol
omg i love this video so much
