I need a new show to watch...Is this any good?

Keep in mind that I never watch Arrow or The Flash because they looked corny...is this pretty much just like those shows?

I do like that my lil homie Franz Drameh from "Attack the Block" is on the show (he follows me on Twitter and Instagram :franko1:, Long Story)...is he good on it?

If the show sucks, what comic book related series should I watch?

    Should I watch this instead:

Legends of Tomorrow was an surprisingly decent show not great but it is decent. also this coming from someone who is not a big dc fan, some one that hates arrow and just got done looking at flash 2 weeks ago and i wont touch super girl. I've been keeping up with preacher i think it has potential the cast can act, looks good and nice story.
have you check these shows out?

Yeah I burned through STRANGER THINGS in two days...It was good...

I'm skeptical on Outcast since its by the creator of The Walking Dead :troll:

Should I give that boring shit Jessica Jones another chance?

outcast is cool so far not going lie it took me a min to get into it. Jessica jones was good to me it has more of a slow tone to it she's not really meant to be a showy super hero.

Thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU!!

I thought I was the only one who wondered what all the critical hubbub for “Jessica Jones” was about! I tried three episodes and switched to “Bob’s Burgers” on Netflix. I can’t believe so many people rated it higher than the first or second series of “DareDevil” on Netflix. Not even close! I hope the Power Man series isn’t No-Doz level, as well.

Speaking of female shows, can my girl Kara get some TV superhero daps? I’ve only watched a couple of episodes of “Supergirl” and it exceeded my (limited) expectations. This scene, in particular, got my attention for it’s deft mix of social commentary on sexism and racism, along with the slight humor (after all, what WOULD a Kryptonian use in a home gym for a punching bag?)

DC does well when they stick to their established properties (Flash, Arrow). When they make shit out of whole cloth like “Gotham” and the forthcoming “Krypton”, I just roll my eyes. Why watch a Batman or Superman show without…Batman or Superman? It’s like reading a Bible with only the Devil and no God. Interesting for five minutes, then the evil and villainy gets banal and boring.

The trailer for Supergirl looked super corny as fuk...Even Mehcad Brooks' too-big sexy ass couldn't do it for me

Daredevil was good, already mashed that out when it premiered.

    Mmm...sure you will :comeon:
Give it a few eps,if you aren't sold by around eps 5-7,it's probably not for you. They didn't go so hard with the Girl Power thing like I expected, and it's probably the best. Superman property since Smallville or Lois and Clark.
    :khart1:First you met K Phillips...now this:leon:
But he's pretty good in his role.Very believable. The best actor/character however is Wentworth Miller/Captain Cold.

It's a good show, some parts of it are rocky.I'd probably give season one a 6 or 7 outta ten If I'm being objective, but it gives me a lot of things I want so I'll be sticking with it.Think Dr Who meets Guardians of the Galaxy.

Okay @DreG @redsai84 @Rico, I finished both seasons of The Flash and I actually dug it as "casual viewing" entertainment. I def underestimated it and how much actual dope science fiction it would contain.

The addition of Wally West was cool at first but then he opened his mouth and quickly became annoying. They should have just let him stand around and look pretty...

The first season had a lot of missteps...but the second season's introduction of Zoom (voiced by the great Tony Todd of Candyman fame) redeemed all of those flaws.

The first confrontation scene between him and The Flash was pretty fuckin dope:

The crossovers with Arrow and Supergirl were a drag. The costumes on those shows are ridiculous and the melodrama between the characters on Arrow was boring. And most of the CW romcom stuff on The Flash was annoying.

And seriously, enough already about Barry Allen's mother. What is it about adult superheroes and their parents?!

Overall it was cool...I tried to watch Legends of Tomorrow but that shit trying too hard to be The Avengers for pre-teens.

I can't vouch for Arrow at all.Stephen Amell's continuous esteem from day one is their only saving grace for me.I think I've maybe seen one ep at the most ever.
Tony Todd's performance was superb.I was hoping he;d make an on-screen cameo, but the scene when Zoom beat Flash and flaunted his victory around Central City (mid season 2) made up for it for me.
You gotta give props to Tom Cavanagh too. He's probably my favorite actor on the show.
Btw,can we all be glad DC finally got a new logo? Thatstupid peeling thing was bugging me.

I gotta disagree here a little.Supergirl's costume is cool to me.I could do without the stitching on the sides, but it works ok.I just want Flash's suit to be brighter.I didn't care for it as much in season 1,but it's gotten better so far.

I was actually gonna write that too, Harrison Wells, especially him in season two, ended up being my favorite overall performance. I almost feel like he's better than this show and is slumming it for the check.

Well, here's the reason why I say her costume is lame...her cape doesn't move...at all...it doesn't blow in the wind, it doesn't obey any laws of physics...its lame. Here's a clip from the episode I saw, the crossover with The Flash:

He makes being a dick look so cool.Even when he stole Barry's speed,I was still rooting for him to get his daghter back.I wonder if she's going to manifest her powers this season.

Eh...it's a super Kryptonian cape that's...gravity/wind resistant...idk.I just like how much fun she and Flash had together. They didn't waste time fighting for some contrived reason.I appreciated that.My fanboy side was in overload.

The costume thing is a leftover legacy that affects all superhero properties since the first Singer X-Men film: "Must...avoid...spandex...look...at...all...costs!" So everyone has that "Bought it at a leather goods road shop in Santa Fe" look. I give it up to Donner for the creative glowing crystalline/metallics for Brando et al in the first Superman movie, as well going with a 70s disco "we're at Studio 54 doing lines of coke" flowery/rubbery look for General Zod, Ursa and Nom.
Burton's Batman was revolutionary, and I understand they didn't want the cheesy nylon stocking look of Adam West. It was a good combination of fun superhero and combat action, unlike Nolan's "we apologize for making a superhero movie" Batman. When he Keaton came through the ceiling, it was the one Batman scene from any film that caught the thrill of the best drawn Batman panels from the Neal Adams/Jim Aparo era.
But It's as if afterwards they have no imagination when it comes to textiles, fabrics, etc. if Supergirl's cape is Kryptonian, why couldn't it be an alien flowing material?

Ditto for a lot of sci-fi movies. Even the new Star Trek costumes add that "leather grid/mesh" look. Yuck. I give it up to Gene Roddenberry for thinking it through, at least the original crew looked comfortable as hell in the intergalactic crew neck sweater Navy and Forever 21 miniskirts. The first Star Trek movie took it further and went casual-as-fuck-in-space, although the onesies that Spock and Scotty wore made for some unintentional middle-aged VPL. I thought it made sense. If you're stuck in a spaceship for months, like a submarine crew, why would you be uncomfortable?
Then they went the total opposite and ruined it with "Wrath of Khan"-and-after Siegfried and Roy Army look. Then again, why would some aliens even wear clothes? Are intergalactic Jehovahs Witnesses and Evangelical missionaries shaming other life forms with stories of fig leaves and Adam and Eve?

Firstly, you get an A for your report on the history of Superhero and Science Fiction costuming.I awarded you tenpoints for each visual aid ,and 5 bonus pts for the inclusion of materials from Rick and Morty. This brings your average for the semester to 97%.
I feel like Hollywood execs saw the sucess of this and ran with it,and that's why we're gettign so many trying-to-hard,joyless,movies that aren't even superhero movies but depressing movies with slight hero elements.BvS is a great example of this.
The relflective Kryptonian fabric was something special.I like that Donner thought to make the alien world that different, instead of giving them armor or leather or something stupid like that.
