How Will You Approach Dating/Relationships in 2016?

I think that's a great way to start off! I think in 2016 I'll try to find more ways to meet guys outside of apps or online. It's really not the best way to get a good or accurate first impression of someone so I think meeting people in person would definitely motivate me more...only thing is I feel like I need to do a lot work on myself to have enough confidence to do that so I understand what you mean when you said wait until you're ready..

 

I've already started the process but I'll continue to be open minded. Focus on the quality vs quantity of people I date and when I do find a potential relationship to not be as cautious as I've been in the past to dive in. Trusting my instincts more.

 

I have started the process as well-for me I deleted the apps to. I was not really checking them anyway and didn't like the responses that I was getting. I am not going to date for awhile. I am just too unstable and emotionally drained.

Unlike you guys in this thread-most of you have finished college or almost finished. I am going back as a 35yr old man. Education, Healing spiritually, and Exercise or my priorities

lol In all seriousness, I'm going with the flow, putting myself out there and letting whatever happens happen. Any rejections, failed relationships, and/or thriving relationships will be taken as learning experiences. Overall, I'm not gonna take dating and relationships so seriously that it feels like a part-time job, and I have some sort of quota or standard to meet...if that makes sense.

 

Public, but I've never tried an app before. I figure, since my school is in Atlanta, it's not really necessary lol

 

Let me say I've only met a dude in person twice before it seems like I got a full glass of juice lol. Both times, we kinda already knew each other. First time, I made subtle hints and he took notice, while making it obvious that he felt the same way. I wasn't out at the time, so I didn't let it go anywhere. Second time (the current one I'm working on), we already have somewhat of a friendship established. I say somewhat because we've only talked in person a few times, but have communicated just about everyday over this break. I'll see how things go when school starts back. But I approached him, starting this somewhat friendship lol.
And I go to school in the midtown area, where everything costs a full arm and 3 quarters of a leg lol

lol Art school don't let you sleep, man! Starting Monday (or whenever we go back), I got 10 weeks to make 2 animated short films from concepts to cleaned up and colored, with an additional third class. I'm already overwhelmed, but I'm ready lmbo

 

Lol well we all have our difficulties. I'm no artist but I wouldn't say learning a different language is a cake-walk.

....I've already started mine, but, I plan on continuing to say yes more instead of "I'm sorry, I'm seeing someone right now (a blatant lie)."

Right now, I've been seeing this guy for a while now whom I don't have any strong feelings for. To be quite honest, I wasn't attracted to him to begin with but when he asked me out, I just said to myself, "f*ck it, why not."

Hopefully, this isn't a phase and that I continue to explore every opportunity that is placed in front of me whether the feelings/attractions are there or not.

 

Im dating myself in 2016. We like all the same movies, foods, activities, everything. And did I mention he is SEXXXAY! I love him more than air.

 

I didn't read all the other responses but I think everyone already knows my answer to the original question. Y'all know how the GOP says Obama's low unemployment rate is full of shit because many people have just stopped looking for work out of frustration thus not being counted? That has been me in 2015. I purposely took myself off da market after my last dating situation in 2014.

Starting this weekend though, I'm officially back like restocked Patti Labelle pies.

Contrary to what some may think, this website was NOT created just for NicK Delmacy to cruise for dudes on...In 4 years I've only talked to and seriously entertained one dude off here. He was dope, but we weren't compatible in a few ways and drifted apart. Having said that, I won't be returning to the scene of the crime.

So in 2016 I will go back to meeting dudes in the ways that worked well in the past: Live and in person.

No hookup apps shit. No dating sites. No digital nothing.

Like a lot of dudes in ATL, I'm not pressed for a relationship and all that, but def ready to get back into the dating scene. When you're not dating you lean more heavily on your friends for companionship and hanging out and casual convo, will be good to ease up on needing them.

 

No new advice than what has already been given for 3 years now: If you see a dude, step to him. Gay men exist outside of gay parties and bars.
