If you know anything about me, y'all know that I LOVE my R&B! R&B has been shifting as a genre. It has evolved so much! Some people feel for better and some others feel for worse. Regardless of people's opinions, I still really did enjoy many of the albums that dropped this year. Yes! I said ALBUMS! I know most people only pay attention to singles now and don't give a whole body of work their undivided attention. It seems like most people's attention spans today are so short so the (urban) music industry is definitely a singles driven market!

Out of this Top 20 list, I really enjoyed the new Tamia, Chris Brown, Jazmine Sullivan, August Alsina, Rico Love, Bryson Tiller, Lianne La Havas, Janet Jackson, Eric Bellinger, The Internet, and Tyrese! They didn't mention the 2015 releases from Tamar Braxton and Monica but I really enjoyed those records too.

What were some of your favorite R&B albums from 2015 that were on (and off) this list?

From the list I've listened to:
Jordin Sparks – Right Here, Right Now

    Bryso Tiller - Trap Soul

Miguel – Wildheart - should be higher on the list, it's no KD but it's still a good Rock and R&B fused record.. Fits his whole style and persona. He's still gay though... so the cover art and everything is hilarious.

Kehlani – You Should Be Here - She's a tad overrated but has some good picks.

Andra Day – Cheers To The Fall - didn't really like it though, great voice but too samey/boring. I prefer Emeli Sande.

Lianne La Havas – BLOOD - LOVE Green and Gold

    Janet Jackson – Unbreakable

    The Internet – Ego Death

    Tyrese – Black Rose

The Weeknd – Beauty Behind The Madness - I'd consider this to be a pop album though. The first 10 were good (which is more than half the album) but then it kind of fell off at the end. Acquainted is the best R. Kelly attempt that Trey Songz hasn't successfully done. A shame, all those years in the game and The Weekdn just shut him down.

Jazmine Sullivan – Reality Show - My favorite along with Janet's

I have no interest in Tamar's music because her personality turns me off.

Some others that weren't on the list:
I actually liked a couple of songs from Ciara's album Jackie but I think that's more Pop leaning, which is why it was mostly shunned. People prefer the ratchet stuff, like Ciara (self-titled) - that was actually a good one.

Tinashe's Amethyst has some nice tracks.

Kelela is another new artist I enjoy (she's Ethiopian :shaq:)

I forgot about Miguel's Wildheart. A great body of work. Love the Rock N B fusion going on with the entire album, #FineAndTalented. I also loved Dawn Richard's Blackheart (follow up to Goldenheart). She really has shown her eclectic talent away from Danity Kane.

Liane LaHavas is a favorite, would've liked to see Emily King and Leon Bridges on the list.

Leon Bridges is on the list lol. Click the link. People like him and Andra Day can sing but I like R&B that is more contemporary and modernized.

Lianne La Havas I liked her record. Very relaxing.

As for Miguel, Wildheart just didn't do it for me. I loved his first album the most. The 2nd one was good but there's nothing like his first album. So many hits and I just LOVED it.
