    As much as I wanted Coulson to kill Ward,I'm glad they kept the actor around.I have no clue as to who the alien presence is supposed to be ,but I'm still interested.

    The Alien is supposed to be based on the Secret Warrior's comic villan called
    'Hive'
    Technically Ward is dead but the alien (not sure if you can call it an alien since I think it originated on earth)/parasite has access to the knowledge and memories of its host.
    I agree actor playing Ward (Brett Dalton) is very talented and versatile. In three seasons he convincingly went from a straight-man shield agent to a sociopathic hydra mole to a malevolent alien overlord. As far as I'm concerned, this is the best superhero/comic series on tv.

    I use to be a stone cold fan. After Season 2 when Skye's mom came into play they lost me. I haven't seen it in a long while.
