Loved this podcast. The guy is actually funny too.

I was happy to hear the end where you both discussed dating and relationships. At the end of the day, we (humans) all want someone to love us. I'm just glad that I have not made the same mistakes that many other gay/bi/SGL/queer men have made by jumping into relationships with baggage. I have really taken my time (all my 25 years of living really lol) to really know and understand who I am and of course I am still learning.

There is one side of the coin where people just want love. I know I want a love that feels like New Jack Swing from the 90s (see: Jodeci, Boyz II Men, SWV, Janet Jackson, Johnny Gill, Brandy, etc) and I am not ashamed to say that. I have to be patient and focus on my school first however. I do hope that somewhere along the way that I do find someone that compliments me well after kissing a few frogs to get to my prince as my "gay dads" and other mentors out here tell me. In the mean time, I don't mind making more gay/bi friends out here that are cool to hang out with.

Then the other side of the coin is how many men are looking for the next best thing out here. I usually hear that about Atlanta. I know people are finding love there but some of the gay men I've come across online and in person from Texas and Florida talk about how in ATL that there is definitely quantity but not quality when it comes to dating black gay/bi/SGL men. I know where I am in South Florida that there are a lot of gays out here so maybe I will come across someone but I don't worry about it or make it a goal like I used to maybe a year or two ago. I know that when I keep putting myself out there and play the numbers game, I will come across someone who's just right for me.

As far as the black lives matter, I concur with Sampson. I remember when @SB3 mentioned something about how black people uniting for causes has pretty much disappeared. I think it is sad but I think it is true. Like Sampson said, it seems like #BlackLivesMatter only when white people are taking black lives. But there is definitely a lot black-on-black crime/violence, blacks not supporting each other in business, and a plethora of other occurrences going on today that black people have to hold themselves accountable for.

#BlackLivesMatter was created specifically to combat police brutality against people of color. It's absolutely important for black people to protest corrupt cops who take a pledge to protect and serve. Police have a literally have a job to act responsible, not Pookie down the street. When it comes to humans beings and murder, everyone kills within their racial group. Most whites kill whites, most latinos kill latinos. Black on black crime is no more of a problem than white on white crime. Now If you want to talk about things like gang violence in places like Chicago then issues like gun control, education, jobs, housing, and the Drug War need to be addressed. If these systemic issues can be addressed then it would definitely improve the life chances in a multitude of areas for black folks. But lets not get on Black Live Matter for their specific objective. Its a distraction.

Just listened to this podcast before dragging myself to a job I don't care for too much. I loved it! He's funny and has the same witty way of communication that I do, so I can really relate to what he said, how he said it, etc. Plus it doesn't hurt that he's not too bad to look at either..lol
