Are your ears pierced?

Ive had both since i was in like, mid school.

 

I got mine as a senior in college. It was either then or never as I was creeping up on interview time and you have to keep them in for so long before taking them out.

I don't wear them daily but even at my age I can pull them off. Princess cut FTW! Lol

I got my left ear pierced when I was 19, in college. I didnt start wearing it around my parents until my mid twenties. I got the right done 5 years ago. I love wearing my studs. However, as a rule, I never wear earrings to work.

 

I have gauges in both ears... I want to stretch my ears a little bit more, but I'm afraid of my ears not going back to a somewhat normal state if I get tired of them.

 

How do people feel about wearing earrings/gauges to work? I know that different proffessions have different tolerances. For example, for me, while I could wear studs to work, I realizes that executive leadership is older and may not see it as acceptable. I would not want it to be something to affect my advancement... earrings are just not THAT important to me. Thoughts?

 

I will never take my gauges out for work, but I also work in the it field so it doesn't really matter. I have meetings with execuitives in my jeans and tshirt on the regular. If I can't be myself, I don't want to work there.

 

So are you saying that your gauges partly define who you are, or that you prefer to work on an less formal/conservative environment?

 

@Kouncelor I prefer the informal environment. As far as my gauges, I jut like piercings and I'm not taking them out.

 

I have had earrings in both ears since I was 17. I wear them daily, but I take them out nightly to sleep. I work in a professional setting, and I used to take them out for interviews, but I don't anymore. My work should speak for me, plus I dress well lol. At this point I think it accents my look.

 

I got my ear pierced first when I was 13yo, my mom actually took me to do it. LOL I got my other ear pierced probably around 15yo, (and two more subsequent holes in each ear around 19) and wore them up until I was about 28-29yo. I haven't worn them since, don't even know if the holes are still open. LOL I miss my earrings, tho.

 

....I'm so bloody jealous! I've been wanting my septum pierced for ages now....I've went about four times yeh and I've chicken out at every attempt.

 

There are 2 piercings in my left ear and one on the right. Both my left and right ears were pierced at 28. I got a second piercing in my left ear at 37.

 

I'm old enough to remember when a man having ear rings was very gay...Then having one in the right ear only was okay, but having one in the left ear was Super Gay... Then suddenly one day I remember seeing a group of thug nikkas in the jewelry department at Macy's in Atlanta shopping for ear ring sets like it was normal. So I said, "Okay I guess society is okay with this now."

Personally, I'm free of piercings and tattoos.

 

I'm old enough to remember that too. Which is why I didn't get my ears peirced when I was younger. I used think that was super gay for men to have their ears pierced. Also gotta admit to having one tattoo. I got it when I was 21 years old. I'm actually thinking about having it removed.

 

yeah when I saw dudes wearing diamonds in both ears I was like okay,progress I suppose.

As a preacher's kid didn't I didn't have that luxury. And the older I got, I just felt it more of a 15-20 year old decision. Now these nipples though, I might be getting done...lol

 

I feel like ear piercings unless they're gauges are played out. I don't see it anymore for some reason. I don't mind them though, if they're still in style then I might get one, my holes still open.

 

Wait, I thought it was the right? I have my left ear done and never heard a word of that. Yeah, society is dumb

 

Why do you want to remove it now?

 

I have both ears...I recently tried hoops and they're pretty dope

I believe the rules are regional.
Growing up in NYC, the right ear was "gay" and the left ear was "ok". Just like men wearing clear polish. I northeast, that shiznit was unheard of. I still don't care for it. But here in Chicago, it's a normal thing.

 

Its not that bad dawg. you can do it. I had to do mine twice, as the first attempt resulted in a lean piercing. and it looks like it would fit you

 

The septum piercing that I have, is termed a gay/freaky thing to do. I get questions from time to time as to why I have it in. Questions from either from low key dudes looking me, or the straight and narrow "concerned"

 

I always thought and still do think nipple piercings are super gay. Any time I see a guy with one I automatically assume he's gay.

 

I have no piercings of any kind. I've always thought about ear piercings, but I'm 28 now. I think the time for piercings has passed.

 

I got my ears pierced at 28. So I wouldn't say the time has passed. There's no rule that says you can't get your ears pierced after a certain age.

 

I hear ya, just now I have that feeling of "what's the point" ya know.

 

I have no piercings (my mom has been telling me to get one since I was 15) and no tattoos. I'm never getting a tattoo but I kind of want a nipple piercing.
